A mural of holiness and corruption. A tableau of sinners and saints. But the holiness is greater than the corruption and the sinners are graced by the saints. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it.
Fudel and the translator/compiler have painted a picture of what holiness looks like... it’s vivid, vibrant, and authentic, and it sticks with me. There are also many quotable sentiments and beautiful stories to share, making this book a very useful and edifying resource.
This book had some oddities and at times made me feel uncomfortable and raise my eyebrows, and for this reason I would less recommend it to someone not experienced in orthodox spirituality and unaccustomed to the variety of thought and contradictions in that literature.
