i can't imagine a first grader being prouder to read a book than this. The photos are gorgeous! Every adult i've shown this to has loved it and wished it were available 50, 70 and 90 years ago when they were kids.

Written in short, simple sentences, this book makes information about birds accessible for young readers. It focuses on the many different types of birds and how they have similar traits(i.e. beaks and wings) but are different at the same time(eat different foods, have different colored feathers). It is a good book to have on the shelf to introduce young readers to informational texts.
