This engaging exploration of the French Socialist Party details the exceptional problems that the party has faced and the way it has dealt with them. The result is a comprehensive and compelling guide to the quiddities of political infighting, the structure of power and of the environment in which the party operates.
The relationship between the communist and the socialist party of France was my favorite aspect of this book. There is no similar battle in American politics between two groups on the actual left. Overall, this book is dry and to get a full understanding of what was talked about you need a wider possession of French political knowledge than I have.
