محاضرات في تجسد الكلمة للقديس أثناسيوس الرسولي- المحاضرة الثامنة
يجب أن نعود إلى صفاء ونقاء التعليم الرسولي الذي لم يمر بثقافة العصر الوسيط الأوربي، الذي تفرَّع إلى عدة اتجاهات مختلفة، بدأت بأنسلم، ثم وصلت إلى نموها الفلسفي على يد توما الإكويني، ودخلت لاهوت حركة الإصلاح الذي لم يبتعد بالمرة عن لاهوت العصر الوسيط، إلاَّ في موضوع الأسرار الكنسية ورئاسة بابا روما وسلطة الكتاب المقدس التي تعلو على التسليم الكنسي الروماني الذي عرفه قادة حركة الإصلاح مارتن لوثر ويوحنا كالفن.
وكان هدفهم من محاولة إعلاء سلطة الكتاب المقدس، وضع التسليم الكنسي في أضيق الحدود الممكنة حتى يتمكن هؤلاء القادة من التعامل مع بابا روما، ومن فرض تعليم موازِ يستند إلى نصوص الكتاب المقدس وحده.
لذا كان من الضروري الاحتفاظ بتعليم عن تقديم ترضية للآب الغاضب على الإنسانية، والتعليم بمصالحة العدل الإلهي مع الرحمة. وكان من الضروري لكي تبقى هذه الفكرة سائدة أن يظل تقديم الابن لجسده على الصليب لله الآب، هو المبدأ السائد الذي لا يمكن التنازل عنه حتى تستقيم فكرة إرضاء العدل الإلهي بتقديم ترضية.
