Realized halfway through that I had read this book in an earlier edition for a school project on mine disasters in the fourth grade. Firmly reinforces my desire to remain at or around sea level at all times

This book truly makes you appreciate and feel for all the men and boys who worked in the coal mines. I shed quite a few tears while reading and a couple of details will definitely stick with me for a long time. The only negative thing I have to say is that there were a few mistyped words here and there.
