Another Brayden finds love in the Book of Love saga. As an agent for the crown, Donal has risked his life for king and country. Now he has been assigned protection to a woman who is in danger, but has no idea why. Lucy has grownup feeling unloved, not knowing why. She reads the book of love, hoping it will provide insight to her dilemma. Little did she know love would come in the form of a protector, who would give his life to save her. Donal tries to hide his feelings, but cannot in the end. He knows some of why Lucy is being targeted, but not everything. As they travel to avoid her pursuers, they try to discover Lucy’s past, searching for answers. What they discover explains much, but not all and the danger is still following them. They need each other more than ever. But will love be able to overcome duty?
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a series that, though I read the first several, I have not read those immediately before this one. I felt a little confused at the beginning, as it feels as if it picks up in the middle of some of the action from the last book, but after a few pages it was minimal. This series is always a guarantee of a fun mystery and a sweet love story along the way, and this was no exception. As in previous books, the characters are not strangers, but have some connection and personal issues that prevent them from expressing themselves well. In her case, she’s never really felt loved. I will likely pick up the books I’ve missed to catch up again, as I forgot how much I enjoyed this series.

Who is Lucy?

Lucy grew up as an outsider in her own family.
Donal is her protector (aw). This book had more suspense than normal for this series (it is book 13).
It moves at a fast clip and I enjoyed Lucy and Donal, as they figure out who Lucy is and why she''s a target.
