It’s a short read that can be read in a single day. It’s a unique story. I will try to briefly summarise the plot that will give you idea about it. I liked how author has started story with description of destiny and Karma. That stole my attention entirely. The protagonist of the story is Keval Kishore Rajput. In North of Madhya Pradesh, there are mountains of Pahargarh, there is a small village and Rajput family lived there. Keval is son if the family. Keval met with a serious accident and he was saved. So they performed a pooja as offering in a temple. Keval has a parents and an adopted son. After a while something terrible happened and there is also an important character named Neelakshi and a Scorpio Gang. There are few members including Keval. Read the book to unfold further plot. I liked the plot. It’s different. I liked how author has developed mystery. I was shocked after turning few pages as the events were unpredictable. Author has used Hindi language very frequently. That gives personal touch to the story but English readers can be confused. The book is written in simple and easily understandable language. The story is to the point without unnecessary pulling or drama. I liked that. The story moves at faster pace that is good. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

More often than not, I come across crime thrillers that consist of power hungry people being murdered in mysterious circumstances. The premise of these types of stories fascinate me a lot because even when you want to sympathize with the victim, you can't help but feel a sort of relief, a sort of comfort in knowing that they got what they deserved and in doing so, you question your own moral compass where the victim often turns out to be evil and the wrong doer turns out to be some sort of vigilante serving justice when the law and system failed to do so. My point is that the crime novels that make you dive in your own psyche and make you question where you stand and what principles you've as a person are my favorite kind.

Dark White by Shweta Brijpuria falls somewhere in that zone where Karma seems to be at play.

When a CM—who used his friends as steps to climb towards success— gets murdered, you immediately start to wonder if this is the kind of person you want to feel bad for especially when he's established as a person who betrayed his closest friends to fulfill his own dreams. But then, we're all humans and sometimes our selfishness gets the best of us. Does that mean that we deserve to be punished in such a brutal way? I don't think so.

This book gives you such emotional whiplash at times where you question your mind and that is why I enjoyed it thoroughly. The fact that I could understand where these characters came from, where they got their motivations from and that essentially, at the end of the day, they were just people making mistakes and hurting each other, not knowing that the consequences would be disastrous stirred something inside me.

It's a little fast paced which made it hard to keep up with all the events that were happening but it also made it easy for me to finish the book in no time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can't wait to watch the adaptation. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone.

Currently reading this book and I must say that I'm totally hooked on to it. The way the story unfolds is remarkable. Waiting to know how all the pieces will come together in the end. I'm sure it will be a sheer surprise too. Good job Shweta! Way to go!Dark White Dark White (Shweta Brijpuria) by Shweta Brijpuria Dark White

The book had a good concept but it was too short to contain the stories of the seven people who were manipulated into living the lives they led. The problem is that due to the short length of the book, the characters could not be developed properly and were one-dimensional.
Also everyone being manipulated by one man and everything falling into place too easily was not too realistic.
The book also needs a heavy dose of editing.
The ending was good and unexpected. The other thing that I liked about the book was the short poem which introduced each chapter of the book.

Really loved the way the author describes the chapter through a short poem in the beginning of every chapter. The story keeps you going till the end and the characters make it come alive.Shweta BrijpuriaDark White

Before I proceed, I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read such a thrilling work of fiction.
Dark White is one of the most engaging crime thriller novels I have read this year. Nowadays, most thrillers have a psychological angle added to the plot, which of course contribute to the suspense unleashed in the novel. But, how often do you actually come across contemporary thrillers which have people obsessed with power? This is what Dark White goes on to explore, and it does it brilliantly.
The first thing I observed while reading Dark White was that it is not merely a crime story where people aspiring for power and glory fall prey to a killing spree. Dark White questions you, the reader, about your own ideas and beliefs pertaining to the terms ‘good’ and ‘evil’. Peppered with the concept of Karma, Dark White goes on to show with every turn of the page how you cannot view a character in a single shade. People are neither good and pure as what white stands for, nor pure evil which is symbolized by black. We all have within us various shades of white, black, and what comes between the two. In fact, the very title of the book is a paradox itself – when has white ever been dark, except for people who embody the same?
However, as much as I would like to shower more praises on the book, there was one thing that remained like a pebble in my shoe – the language. If you have watched and read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, you would have noticed how Flynn uses language to construct the corresponding scene within our mind as well as on the silver screen. Language, in Gone Girl, dictates movement and the flow of knowledge in the novel. In fact, the reader has to hang on to the writer’s words to know what happens next. This is how thrillers work. The language sits in the front seat, while the plot rides pillion. Unfortunately, Dark White is devoid of any remarkable use of language, syntax and vocabulary. For a well-developed story with a proper structure and an impressive cast, I believe that a better language would have definitely made Dark White a five-star read for sure!
I convey my best wishes to the author for her future endeavours.

When the importance of position is greater than friendship it is not an emotional bond anymore.
The book Dark White by Shweta Brijpuria will make you think over the human emotions and the life goals at the same time.

Story begins with a seat grabbing thriller sequence of Keval Kishore Rajput being met with an accident, a person who is going to be sworn-in as CM is dead.
What follows next is the consequences of the incident and how people may benefit or lose their investments as a young candidate is no more.

And then the story runs in parallel when all the friends gather at his house to pay last condolscenes.
7 friends are connected with a peculiar thread in life that their birthdays fall on consecutive days of a month and together they are known as Scorpio Gang.
Story is narrated by multiple people, so one needs to very carefully keep track of who is doing it at that particular time.
You will witness political angles and the glimpse of how news agencies work as characters take their lessons of life here.
When the story advances, a reader suspects many people to be the culprit yet the author has very brilliantly kept the pace of the story intact in each chapter and in the end too.
I didn’t like the Hindi or one can Hinglish dialogues , as it took away some shine from the story.

Final Word: If you are looking for a story that is thriller and deals with a bundle of emotions where friendship is the core then you may pick this book. The characters' dilemma and learning in the race of life teaches a reader many lessons to be learnt.
This book Dark White published by Leadstart Publishers is also being in to ZEE5 shows at Balaji
Grab this book and be on a roller coaster of emotions.

Owing to the recent popularity of OTT platforms and the audience’s penchant to watch fresh stories on screen, a lot of recent works by novelists both indian and global are being adapted as series and movies that are both streaming and trending in the readily available OTT platforms. Dark white is one such wonder that was recently adapted as a series and cant say which one I love more.. The novel of the series!! The book is engaging and the psychological angle to the plot makes the novel sui generis and HOW!! The crux of the novel is powerplay and the collateral damage it causes. The novel might be a little off for some readers who do not enjoy violence and take downs but those who enjoy a genre like this Dark white might be one of the best books they come across in recent times.
Dark White questions you, the reader, about your own ideas and beliefs pertaining to the terms ‘good’ and ‘evil’ with important concepts of “Karma” and time. The book teaches us that every character has several layers and shades to them and trust me it is best if you do not have any favorites while reading the book. Hence, I feel that character building is one of the best attributes of the book coupled with a fluid language and a fast pace. I personally enjoyed reading this book and it is infact one of my first reads of 2021.

The story starts with a scene where Keval Kishore Rajput is on the way to Bhopal for his oath ceremony as the youngest CM of the state, and he met with an accident and was found dead. Everybody goes into shock, and this is the most difficult time for Neelakshi, the Keval fiance.
Neelakshi thinks about their Scorpio gang in college, seven friends born in the same month who came together as destiny planned it for them. The police investigating the case as a murder, and all seven friends become suspects. This is a story of dreams, aspirations, ambitions, love, loss, fear and vengeance. The story is written in such a  manner that it has many layers, and each layer unfolds many secrets buried in their friendship.
This is an interesting and entertaining read in which every character plays the role of pawn in the game of Dark White. It is difficult to guess who is the mastermind in this game or who tried to hide behind a mask. Characters are well described, and each character has its unique personality and traits so I liked all the characters of this book.  The plot of the story is unique and interesting. The story is fast-paced, and perfect narration makes it a quick and easy read.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Keval passes away and his death brings them together with alot of questions regarding it .He was supposed to be the CM but his death came in totally unexpected to everyone.

The police starts to investigate and the scorpio gang was being interrogated. This is where the story gets heated up. Filled with a lots of twists and turns the plot gets more and more interesting .The author brings in the curiosity to find out who actually killed keval .

Wow a fast paced story of a smart fun loving bunch of youngsters called Scorpio. They get together to enjoy life and their friendship grows as time passes.

To further their ambitions their de facto leader nick named Master Mind who's skilled at predicting and plotting has some big plans for them. They believe their friend is helping them succeed and realise their ambitions. Or is he?

All's well until Master mind who's about to take oath as the CM of the state suddenly dies in a mysterious accident.

Friends come to mourn their loss. But was his death really an accident? And if not who was responsible for his death?
Afterall it is with his help that they've managed to succeed in their own careers.

An interesting page turner that'll keep you hooked throughout with fun michevious anecdotes of the Scorpio group along with the steadily rising stakes involving crime, passion, politics, conspiracy, love and friendship.

This book has also been made into a series and can be viewed on Zee5 and Alt balaji.

The poems sprinkled between the pages are very enjoyable and nice to read.

Thank you @leadstartcorp @shwetabrijpuria for a copy of this highly entertaining and lovely book.

Dark White by Author Shweta Brijpuria is a mysterious and a thriller kinda plot. It clearly gives the picture of one's goals towards life, dreams, aspirations, ambitions, love, loss, fears and political chasing. Karma and destiny plays a major role in one's life and it pays off then and there as this book tells you the logic behind it.

The story begins with Keval Kishore Rajput who had the true qualities to be the leader and would sowrn in as a CM but unfortunately he was met with a car accident and announced as death. Scorpio gang was suspected in his death. Keval was the mastermind of Scorpio Gang with 6 other friends who all are connected by their birthdays which falls in consecutive days in the same month and together called as "Scorpio Gang"

Each characters is well developed. The flow of language is lucid, but somewhere I felt there were too many layer's within the plot.

Overall a good start to read a thriller story.

In Dark white, you'll find friendship, dreams, ambitions, power, love, and many more aspects of our life. This book starts with the murder of Keval Kishore Rajput who was going to be a CM. After the investigation of his murder, all his college friends, the Scorpio gang is suspected.

↪ I really liked reading this thriller. I rarely read crime thrillers but this came out to be a good one. Character development is well. The narration is crisp and clear. The book is a perfect page-turner.

↪ The storyline perfectly goes with the setting and the plot. The characterization is done quite well. The language used is easy to comprehend and the narration is explicit. It is a good read for crime thriller readers. The book keeps us hooked till the last page.

↪ Coming to the book cover, I liked it, it perfectly matches with its content. The title is also appropriate for it.

So let's start with this book. The cover is apt for the story. If you are someone who likes crime thriller than may be you will like it. Why did I say may be? The plot is not very unusual but the writing is good. It keeps you hooked with the pace.
.
I like it when thrillers are not slow paced and upto the point with no unnecessary drama involved. We all have read/seen where someone who wants to move ahead in life uses a path where he himself digs the hole for him. So will he be correct in doing so or was he worth this pain? I am very much looking forward to watch it on screen.
.
To know about this fact paced thriller go grab your copy.

Yin and yang simply represent the natural dualities in our world like hot and cold, day and night, dark and white and love and hate! These are also the symbols of balance because that is what sustains the whole system. Caught in the whirlpool of plentiful lies and the swamp of hatred that often remains unseen, Dark and White explores the pathos of political influence and bigotry that often jeopardises even the most precious and pious relationships.

I read this after watching the series on Zee 5. I must say the book is much better if you read it. It's a short novel based on college friends. how one person wants to have power and how others are helping them to achieve it but in the end, they all feel betrayed or I would say they knew this from the beginning why they were helping him. overall a good read.

The book Dark White by Shweta Brijpuria made me think about human emotions and their effects. The book was built on a very good concept of stories of the seven people who were manipulated into living the lives they led.

Dark White is not merely a crime story where people aspiring for power and glory fall prey to a killing spree. Dark White questions you, the reader, about your ideas and beliefs revolving to the terms ‘good’ and ‘evil’.

This is an entertaining read in which every character plays the role of pawn in the game of Dark White. It is difficult to guess who is the mastermind in this game or who tried to hide behind a mask.
The language has cliches and is suitable only for Indian readers. There are a lot of characters and I felt more time could be given to the characters for their build-up. The book was quite a short read as compared, web- series might be better as compared.

Gripping

I am a sucker for mysteries and thrillers. This was one of the best thrillers I have read this year. It was gripping from beginning to end. I love stories of powerful people and power hungry people. It is a story of destiny, karma, ambitions, power, dreams, vengeance, revenge, love, life and more. The story kicks off with the death of Keval Kishore, who was on his way to become the youngest CM of Bhopal. This murder investigation leads to suspecting seven influential people - all friends from college. The characterization is done well and you can understand the psyche of these people. It is a very fast paced book with twists, turns and secrets at every corner. You can read it at one go. I am excited to watch the web series based on this.
