Lies In Love

Rate this book
Losing love is easy compared to what can happen when it finds you.

After the latest in a long string of heartaches, her colossal crankiness has led Talia Byrne’s friends to take drastic action and hire an escort. His cocky attitude and blasé demeanor have her longing to slap him—and his perfect body makes her want to tear off his clothes.

After six years as an escort, Landon Havens thinks he’s seen—and done—it all. But none of his experience has prepared him for the little vixen that is dropped in his lap. So sexy and stubborn, she awakens something inside him. Something that makes him question the life he’s chosen. But can their love survive their secrets?

Talia’s had a pretty tough life. Her mother walked out on her family, taking her youngest sister with her and fleeing Texas for California. She grew up in her father’s flower shop, learning everything she could about flowers, so much so, that her father gave her the shop when he remarried. The night before her wedding, she comes home and finds her fiancé with one of her friends and to top it off, he confesses that this isn’t the first time he’s cheated.
Kicking him out and canceling the wedding, she’s forced to listen to her mother blame her for her fiance’s cheating. Six months have passed and she’s still moody and miserable, so her sister Sara, and friends Camey and Reina, decide to throw their money in and hire an escort to take Talia out, without her knowledge.
Landon’s the escort hired, blond haired and blue eyed, with a body that women can’t resist, he makes the perfect distraction for Talia. When Landon and Talia meet, he tries, but Talia shuts him down and then flees. Landon becomes intrigued. So much so that he changes his whole life for her. But, will it be enough? What will happen when Talia finds out what Landon does for a living? What will happen when Talia finds up that he was hired by her sister and friends?
The storyline drags you in. You have to get the answers to those questions. You need to be there for the inevitable train wreck when Talia finds out that Sara, Reina, and Camey hired Landon, an escort, for her. It’s cringeworthy and bingeworthy all at the same time. I truly enjoyed this unique story. I thoroughly engaged with the characters, went through all the emotions Talia went through and still wanted more.

This is the first book I've read by Ava Wood and I can say right now that I'll be diving into her over books straight after this review.
Poor Talia, I was rooting for her happy ending since the very first page. How she managed to keep her mouth shut about a so called ex-fiancé is beyond me as there's no way I could do it! He'd be suffering that's for sure!
Let's not forget our hero, Landon! Swoon! It's safe to say I've got a bit of a soft spot for him.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the storyline! The main characters were awesome and the side characters really shone through.
I'm hoping we get to see more of them!
A really great read!

Absolutely Beautiful

I love to read this author because she always seems to draw out my emotions and I have to have a box of tissues next to me. This book was very emotional for me because I could understand what Talia was going thru because I have been there.

Always wanting to his behind how you are really feeling and even hide it from your true friends. Always being afraid to let anyone in. Then having this handsome man come into your life and make you feel whole again.

I have to admit this book was an emotional ride and was worth it. My favorite part of the book was the last few chapters. So much I had to read it again.

Until Next Time...Tabi

Another fantastic read from Ava Wood! I enjoyed this story very much! Talia and Landon are match made in heaven. They start off with lies Landon tells and it threatens to destroy them. But, in the end it ends with a happily ever after! Just how I like them! I can't wait to read more!

This was a sweet read. I mainly enjoyed the references throughout the book about the meaning of different flowers and how it was incorporated into the feelings and as a means of expression throughout the story. It's your typical love story with its fair share of obstacles before the HEA.
