I know it's a short book (in fact - the Scholastic edition), but sometimes it's refreshing not to have the big words and the exhaustive analysis. Just wanted a quick book on the facts, as least as interpreted by one of his friends. I learned a lot about the guy. Did not know he played D1 quarterback. Had no idea he came in a very close second to Dukakis in the 1988 primary. He would have been a better candidate.
This is one of my nonfiction books that was assigned to read. I dont know if this is the exact book i read because i left the real one at school so i don't know what its REALLY called but heres my review:
This book is "ok" because honestly i dont really like nonfiction books unless they really grab my attension. Anyways, this book is of course abot Jesse Jackson. He was born in those times of "segregation" which is (if you don't know) to enforce seperation of race. When he was growing up he was good at sports, espeacially football which was one of his careers that he turned down for a more persuiting career that he wanted to do. He was very smart in all his classes he took, which gave him a high potenial to apply for other schools. He went through various journies and encountered many things during his life as an adult.
