Hmmm ...

Not exactly the book I was expecting, but it was well written. I thought there would be more in-depth information than what you get on a Google search.

If you're serious about ghostwriting but don't know where to start this is the guide for you!

The author provides not only a framework of how ghostwriting works but the concrete steps on how to build your portfolio and where to find those opportunities online whether that be Indeed, SimplyHired, or Craigslist. The book even encourages aspiring ghostwriters to think outside the box and look for opportunities amongst their personal connections or local communities.

For those seeking clients online he gives a high-level breakdown of the pros and cons for each site he recommends. I personally vetted a number of the recommended links and many not only have real ghostwriting jobs posted but a few offer nice pay. Realistically when you are starting off like myself you may only be able to land smaller gigs, like a short 15-page book on a particular topic or writing a book synopsis. This is touched on but I wish this was something that was stressed a little more in the book because it’s important to understand you will not be able to land a lot of higher-paying gigs when you first start out.

Overall I thought this guide was pretty comprehensive and offered me enough guidance to help me land a ghostwriting job of my own without hardly any experience. I give this book 4 1/2 stars
