This is only 1 disk, 3 stories, and an overview of the frame containing them. This is clearly aimed at kids, so the most violent thing that happens is 37 of the 40 thieves dying from having boiling oil poured over them. There is no intro, no mention of translation or which editions inspired it, and the only epilogue is one that says “if you like these stories go to a library or book store to read more of them.” It seems that this collection’s overall theme is the importance of storytelling and the long-lasting impact it can have. The CD is divided into 4 tracks, one of which is over 20 minutes, so I recommend it for kids on road trips when there will be few interruptions to make you lose your place.

These were really fun! I magically transported back to my childhood days and relived my first remembrance of Ali Baba ...so fun! These stories should be on your bookshelves
