Sebelum Kim Ji-young, Born 1982, melalui Poor Man's Wife, Eun Hee-kyung sudah lebih dulu menyuarakan isu domestik di Korea Selatan. Meski tak sekompleks cerita Kim Ji-young, Poor Man's Wife cukup mampu menyampaikan pesannya meski hanya terkemas dalam sebuah cerita pendek.

Cerita ini cukup menyenangkan sekaligus bisa membuat kita merasa kalut dalam waktu yang bersamaan.

This short book left me feeling frustration, anger and disappointment, which was probably the point.

It shows the frustration on both the side of the husband and the wife in a so-called 'typical marriage'.

Very interesting read. I wonder how many Korean women feel this way even today. The book was very short and I was left wondering if the guy ever decided to change his ways.
