I'm not normally a Non-Fiction reviewer on The Phantom Paragrapher, but every now and again - a non-fiction book will capture my attention and draw me in. It may be through the title or the cover , it may be through the tagline of the book. Tamara Branch's ITGirl4Life was one of those books that drew me in and I am glad I read it and like many other non-fiction books, it will be one that I keep on my e-reader to go back to when I feel the urge as it's a learning type of book and each time you read it, you may spark something different in your life. One of my favourite quirks and something that I used to be obsessed with during my teenage years was collecting inspirational quotes, poems and sayings and ITGirl4Life transported me back to those teenage years and I felt myself wishing that this book was around then as would have been such a great guide to have growing up. If you have a teenage daughter or is a teenager yourself , this book is the perfect reference guide to have as it covers everything from being beautiful , staying magnificent and helping you to realise that no matter what stands in your way, you are awesome and can achieve whatever goal and dream you aim for. If you are wondering what IT is , IT is the greatness -that spark of confidence and vibrance that sits inside each and everyone of us, it is something that has been there waiting since the day we were born upon this earth. Waiting for the moment when you get a lightbulb pop up and it sets a little fire in your belly as the greatness roars up through you. This book teaches you how to harness your greatness and help you to achieve your full potential , so that one day - you will be starring at a plaque that reads "Your Name" Person of the Year. This book is a quick read at only about 100 pages, but those 100 pages are filled with life-changing quotes, inspiration and ancedotes. Those 100 pages will contain "wow" moments that will fill your heart with glee as you take the first step forward into finding and claiming your little spot of greatness.

So readers, what are you waiting for ---- grab your copy of "ITGIRL4LIFE" and unleash the power of your inner Greatness bubble.

I found this to be a fun, quick read. I enjoy being able to pick it up and open it to a random page to find something to either think about or to inspire me. There are many things in this book that I have already tried to teach my daughter, and myself, but there are also a few things that I didn't think to talk to her about already.

I find this to be a great book to start discussions with my daughter. I want her to grow up with more self confidence than I did. I still have low self esteem and many problems with body image and self confidence. Anything I can find to teach her that she is beautiful, inside and out, is a good thing and this book is perfect for that.

I wish I could give this book out to all the girls in her school. No matter how self confident a girl seems, I know that most of them have doubts about themselves. This book is a great way to get them to see their true potential, as well as how great they already are.

I would recommend this book to any girl of any age. I am almost 40 and have learned a few things, while my daughter will soon turn 12 and she has found many things in the book that speak to her. I fell the author did an amazing job of making this book fit in to the modern world that is obsessed with instant gratification, has short attention spans, and where everyone has someone that needs a self esteem boost.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. I was not required to leave a positive review.

My Review:

Being a girl, especially in this day and time is not very easy. The author offers every girl a different perspective to consider instead of looking down, they should always look up. While to me we should focus more on our relationship on God, other than ourselves---the author tends to tell the reader to look more inwardly. I feel like the book does give the reader a positive outlook, but I disagree with relying on one's self for that motivation.

The book is a short read, offering less than 100 pages but the author offers lots of encouraging words and lessons in which to teach any young girl to always focus on the positive in every situation. I think that it is a very motivating book and would help any girl to see her worth and to also help her along life's way to reach a better place within to achieve her goals in life.

In the uplifting and invigorating words of author and motivational speaker Tamara Branch, what you believe about yourself affects what you choose, and what you become. In order to be able to take charge of your own life and make a difference, you need to stop depending on the judgement and approval of others and start loving yourself, explore your potential, and value your uniqueness. You will then be able to see your greatness, understand the purpose of your presence on this Earth , and build a life that is authentic, fulfilling, and productive. “Trust yourself. Your values and instincts will guide you to what feels right for you.”

ItGirl4Life is an inspirational handbook for “every girl who ever had a doubt” about their sense of self and worth. Although not fashioned as a traditional self-help guide (bite sized chapters and lack of a fully developed section of exercises and practical advices may suit readers who don’t have the opportunity to sit down for long reading sessions, but may not prove satisfying for readers who look for a more comprehensive and detailed roadmap to solidify their goals), Branch’s handbook remains a motivational tool of remarkable power. Its upbeat and fresh format will greatly appeal to readers in their teens, but I would recommend it to a young female audience as well as women of all ages who would like to provide their loved ones with an accessible mantra to boost their self-confidence. 4 stars out of 5

I was really excited to pick up this book. I don’t read a lot of non fiction but when I do I tend to really like books in the self help section. I for sure really liked this book it was good. Tamara Branch touches on things we all want to hear! I liked the formating and approach for the subjects she wanted to talk about it was nice and simple and straight to the point. This book is also really short you can read it in one sitting, no problem and at the end you feel really good about yourself .
I loved that I could sit down for a few moment here and there and just get a little boost It Girl 4 Life is great for that and I would for sure recommend this book to all tween and teenage girls. I wish I had the chance to read this book when I was younger and struggling with my own identity but i am so glad that the younger generation has Mrs. Branch’s voice to help them out.
The only complaint I have is possibly having something to reinforce the points she was making. A lot of self help book include a “do it yourself” section after the written portion. This could include journaling your thoughts on the subject or something like that and for me that can really drive home the point the author was trying to make.
Overall a rather enjoyable and worth a read if it sounds appealing to you pick it up!

IT Girl for Life is a wonderful read. Full of positivity and energy. The bite-sized lessons are easy to relate to and linger on in the mind long after one has closed the book.

Starting from talking about self realisation and understanding who one really is, Branch moves on to other areas of emotional wellness such as making wise choices and making use of one's hidden talents and creativity. Then we look at my three favourite chapters from the book - which talk about ownership and responsibility, learning to be patient and tolerant, and the joy of giving. There are also chapters on topics that help women realise they are all beautiful, no matter what bodies they have. Then we look at how one can be self-reliant. We also get to read about meditation and how to keep one's mind calm. Branch sums up with chapters on being financially wise and exploring that entrepreneurial streak in all of us.

This is a superb book for one's wallet at all times. I pick up and read a chapter now and then and the book never fails to motivate. Highly recommended!

The book that can make you question not only yourself, but the material itself.

This self-help is something really and truly insightful. It can really get down to what really counts and how to go about it. The beginning had a bunch of personal growth that can make almost any type of female reader want to keep reading, want to know the next best thing to having a fullfilling life. It lures you in, like an ice cream truck driving by your house. There are a variety of flavors to choose from, a choice made my none other than you. Then getting closer to the end, I started to question what it was basically telling me to do. How to react, how to have a perspective. I believe the writer was on a role with the self-help instructions and suggestions in the beginning, but there is a contradiction later on that made me as a reader do a complete 180. I felt like I was in a trance and suddenly woke from it. This author definitely has a way with words, but I do recommend some more development on writing skills. But then again, what do I know. Check it out for yourself.

Overall, I did enjoy this short read and would recommend something like this to my grandmother or sister.

ItGirl4Life by Tamara Branch is a motivational handbook for readers to learn how to love themselves and be as true to themselves as possible. This 40-chaptered book provides readers with inspiring quotes, motivational statements along with guidance that will help build readers confidence.

ItGirl4Life is short read that is straight to the point with helpful tools for readers to better themselves. It was an enjoyable read but I would have preferred a little more substance to the book. When I chose a self-help book I am looking for guidance, solutions and activities to help me through the issues and problems that I am currently facing. In ItGirl4Life I did not receive all that I was looking for but that does not mean that it is not a book you wouldn’t on your shelf. Please believe me this book is a keeper and when speaking to my young girls will be one that I mention. I just wanted more and I look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

The cover of the book says “how to bring out your special something & so much more.” And there are many steps inside the book to help you do that. The chapters are only 1-2 pages, but each can have a huge impact on how you value yourself.

The chapters cover topics like Love Yourself, Smile, Laugh Play & Have Fun, Celebrate Your Unique Beauty, Express Yourself As Only You Can, and Meditate. It’s full of motivational quotes and will help the reader begin to build self-worth and stop worrying what others think.

I loved this book, because it will help girls (and women) be the confident, happy, strong person you were meant to be. I plan on passing this book on to my granddaughter Alecia who is at the age where she’s very confident in some aspects of her life, and not very confident in others. She’ll be a teen next year and I think this book will help her a lot.

Would definitely recommend this for girls of any age.

“You are magnificent. You are important. You matter.” These are the first few sentences that open this motivating short book by professional model and actor Tamara Branch. Her goal is to show young women how great they really are so they are poised to succeed in life. With advice about choosing wisely, loving yourself, accepting responsibility, celebrating your unique beauty, protecting yourself from wordly dangers, building character and more, Branch gives young women a strong foundation to build on.

Perhaps a young woman has never considered her true worth. Maybe no one has ever told her how extraordinary she really is. Or maybe it’s time for a reminder of how much potential she has. No matter the reason, if you are looking for a book that will inspire greatness in a young woman you know, ITGIRL4LIFE is an excellent choice.

ItGirl4Life proves that great things come in small packages!

The book is a quick and easy read and a ready source of positive affirmations. It’s an inspirational resource for the tween/teen market and a good reminder for the rest of us.

ItGirl4Life is very well written with quick, simple and spot-on philosophy lessons for young women-to-be. These lessons should be shared with all of our daughters, and our granddaughters, and our nieces, and our young friends--and I don't think we should wait till they're teens. The book is entirely appropriate for “tween-agers,” too, and I can't think of a better gift for those formative years.
