Message Through Time: The Photographs of Emma d Sewall, 1836-1919

Rate this book
Emma Sewall of Bath, Maine began photographing in her fifties. She took most of her pictures between 1884 and 1899, and exhibited and took awards with The Boston Camera Club and the Photo-Club of Paris. Though Sewall led a privileged life, her best photographs show common people doing everyday things-women quilting, farmers mowing, lobstermen pulling their traps.
