A must read for anyone who's ever wanted to take a trip down someone else's memory lane, and at the same time revisit the warmth of their own. Mitch Levenberg writes about writing and reading his writing.
This book is proof that writing something is the cure to writer's block. It's witty, personal, and eccentric in its observations. I do wish that I'd started reading the author's stories before I'd read this - but now I will!
Initially, I gave the book three stars because I was reading it with my overly critical literary mind. A day has passed and I realize that this book is not meant to be read with academic standards in mind. What the book has done for me as a writer is worth more than three stars. The lesson is "just write"... The book explores the author's perspectives on his own writing, on his life as a so called literary figure - but ultimately, we see that what makes him a writer, is the fact that he writes, that he's willing to take on the challenge that comes with any kind of creation.
