The Debt is the first book in the Sordid duet.
This is a dark story. The author created a world of deceit and retribution. A world in which Jarek is the dark executor of his rightful vengeance and Tatiana the innocent whose life and heart is the prize.
Poor poor Tatiana, my heart breaks for her. All her life is full of lies when she is such a sweetheart. I can't wait for the outcome in The Payment.

What an amazing story by this author Linzi Basset. It’s a dark mafia romance with two people, Jarek and Tatiana. Jarek has kept himself under cover because he didn’t want anyone to know who he was. The dark one is what they called him because they knew who evil he could be. Then there’s Tatiana who was her own boss and not looking for anything but maybe a companion. Her grandparents wanted her to settle down but not with whom they chosen for her.
Jarek had plans to take over Polov’s organization and making Tatiana as his wife. Tatiana had no idea who he truly was, and thought she may have found the man for her, little does she know that things are not as them seem.
This story was awesome, and it didn’t take long to get engrossed in it. I can’t wait for book 2 when we can find out what’s going to happen with this couple and how the mafia will react when the sh*t hits the fan. Another great read by Linzi. 💜💜

A deep and emotional story but one that holds the reader’s attention. I do feel sorry for Tatiana though, she is caught in the middle and she did nothing to deserve it. Tragedy has made Jarek into the man he is but it has also destroyed his soul or has it, there are glimpses that Tatiana has reached into his heart. The denouement is dramatic and now we wait fo the conclusion in The Payment.

This book was so good! It will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is intense and keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen next. Linzi did a fantastic job keeping the story intriguing, suspenseful and spicy. Highly recommend this book and author. Looking forward to The Payment book 2 in the Duet. So glad it will be out soon!!

I’m a lover of duets. And when they embody both Irish and Russian Mafia, I’m all in! This one certainly blew me away! I literally couldn’t put this story down! The depths of emotions I felt, the intensity of the not knowing what happens next, kept me entranced throughout. So much goes on in this epic story, my head was spinning! Jarek is an Irish mafia member under the guise of a successful businessman who had something tragic happen in his past, and is bound and determined to take retribution against those who wronged him. His journey is dark but I felt his pain coming off the pages. Unfortunately for Tatiana, she is collateral in a war she knows nothing about. She is a strong woman trying to make a success of her life, but her family keeps getting in the way. So when she meets Jarek, she feels hope for the first time. But is he who he says he is? This first part of the duet takes you on a wild ride of which I never wanted to end. My heart broke and was almost put back together and now I have to wait for The Payment to find out if it will truly be healed. This author proves to me time and again how brilliant her stories are. Do yourself a favor and read this incredible story to this duet, you will love it as much as I do!
