What I like best about this book are experts writing essays about aspects of the Antigone and of Sophocles and his era. The essays are fast reads but carry deep messages. So even if an essay is 4 pages it is still going to teach us something. There were many things I relearned. I read a translation of the play Friday Feb 23, then read the bulk of this book Saturday Feb 24 & into the afternoon of Sunday Feb 25; then read Seamus Heaney's The Burial at Thebes on the evening of Sunday Feb 25.

It was a weekend of Antigone. It was a great weekend.
