Jared was a hard working young man, who dedicated his time to advancing in his job when he finally gathers the courage to talk to Nick. Jared’s fear of rejection still haunts him in many of his relationships. Nick just got out of a bad relationship and is in need of some support, which he finds in Jared. They each face their internal demons and family strife as their relationship is tested by their pasts. Will Jared and Nick be able to forge a lasting relationship, or will the past make their relationship die before it even starts?
This book is a bit of a mess. It has the bones of a good story, but is all over the place and kind of confusing. The mc's read like teenage boys and the relationships were completely unbelievable. I do not know any grown men who would speak as they do, and the whole "will you be my boyfriend?" Was almost cringeworthy. I also have issues with how someone who was hit by a car and had such serious injuries would be at a party a few days later getting drunk and having sex. I love reading and can usually find something to love about most books I read, but this was not ready to publish and needs a lot work, I think that after a bit of work, it could be a great story.
At times you can come across a great freebie from Amazon; unfortunately, this book wasn't one of them. I'll sum up this book with one word: amateurish! I started skimming immediately. After 10% I jumped to 79% and the plot was too amateur for me to continue. Would not recommend this book to anyone.
The book was a good read it kept me not wanting to stop & read on. I was upset/ angry a few times reading this but I had mixed feelings about all 3 characters. I didn't know who I wanted to be with who, I hated 1 person then liked or loved then after, I was like ARGH.. Make up your mind already, lol. I really liked the way it ended but I wish there was more to the story & also lots of things were skipped & wished I knew what they were. Example( when Jared & Nick made love when they got back together, what Jesse was doing away from Jared, when Jared told his mom he was with Nick, how Jesse & Jared remained friends after break up & how he handled watching Jared & Nick as a couple again) I think Jesse needs his HEA
I liked the storyline but the style of writing was a bit like reading a historical non-fiction chronicle. The obvious emotions of the different characters didn't "come through" in the story. The feelings didn't translate in the way the author wrote the book.
