Megan Bell started writing as a hobby and has created a series of children’s stories about her golden retrievers. She can be found most days writing, playing with her doggies, and spending time with family and friends. Megan loves to volunteer as a therapy dog handler, where they actively visit schools and provide rewarding therapy dog visits.
For 10+ years, I've shared my therapy dogs with many children in local reading dog programs. I have developed programs with facilities for their students, shared my dogs and watched children's reading levels improve. All readers, young and old, benefit from reading with a dog. The dog does not know if the reader is reading the correct words, making for a relaxed environment for growth and development. We see huge jumps in skill level in our young readers just in our first few reading sessions. Watching a child relax and release their stress while just petting a dog in school is amazing. I encourage people to utilize these wonderful programs. Brody and Tehya love hearing the "tails" from the students.
