Raghavan was born in Adyar, Chennai and spent his early years in many villages of Chengalpet District because of the frequent transfers of his father in his job. In the mid-1980s, his family shifted and settled in Chennai where Raghavanfinished his school and college studies in 1988. The famous weekly magazine kalki offered him the post Assistant Editor in 1992 after he showed his talent in humorous articles and stories.
Raghavan worked as an assistant editor in Kalki for about 8 years and joined in kumudam the No.1. Tamil weekly magazine in 2000. After completing a full year in Kumudam as Assistant Editor, he was appointed as the Editor in Charge for then newly started by monthly Kumudam Junction.
Raghavan left the magazine industry and became involved in publishing in 2003 and presently leading the Tamil Division (‘'Kizhakku Pathippagam'’) of New Horizon Media Private Limited.
It's a children's book, actually. Pa. Ra. says that this is one of the stories that he wrote very early in his career and is still very close to his heart. He admits that there are some stuffs that could have been improved in this, but decided not to touch it since he treats this as a memory.
It's a very small book, takes you into an adventure along with Balu, KudumiNathan and DelhiBabu into the "Pandri Theevu". I liked that the author had managed to keep what the treasure is as a suspense until the last few pages of the book! Straightforward kids level thinking and implementation. As he said himself, there are places where a small rework could have improved this novella much better. I still loved this book as this has finally broken my reading block!
