This is a story about heroism. A story about courage. And a story about falling in love. At the end of a terrible day, facing bullies at school and at home, Alex locks herself in her room. She puts on her headphones and falls asleep with tears in her eyes. When she wakes up, she's no longer in her room. She's in the game. A multi-level dream universe where she'll be challenged to fight the monsters in her head and the darkest memories from her past. In the game she'll meet the Queen, the dragon, the teacher - and the boy who changes everything.
Lucky to have received this early from the lovely Chloe but all thoughts are completely my own.
5 ⭐️ absolutely adored this book. The fact I was crying at the end shows just how good it was. This touches on some difficult topics but it is YA so is done in a very easy to read format. Despite being an adult now, I can relate to the main character so much as somebody that was bullied in school. I really struggled and didn’t always have that support but this book shows those struggles and that you can overcome them. It’s not always about fighting the dragon but being friends with it.
The descriptions in this book are so beautifully written and truly makes you feel like you are a part of this dreamworld. Every level of this game is completely unique and something I have never read before so it feels fresh. The main character is so likeable and I can’t help but relate to her and root for her throughout the entire storyline.
Adored! I’m crying! Highly recommend this book and it is released 30th January by an incredible indie author
'Broken bones warrant punishment and concern, but broken hearts aren't visible enough to matter'
This is a book about heroism. Yes, I can confirm it definitely is. The book follows Alex, a teenager who is struggling with bullying, mental health and some personal issues (no spoilers here). As she falls asleep she enters 'The Game' and progresses through levels battling personal demons in varying forms alongside her Player Two.
I loved this. The plot felt really unique, I've never read anything like this which I really enjoyed. The book itself is such an easy read even though it touches on some very serious and important issues. I really enjoyed Alex's waking hours reflecting the lessons learned and the paths taken during her dreams. The romance was super cute and very PG-13 which is perfect for a YA book.
If my teenage self had read a book like this when I was younger and being bullied, I might have felt more seen and slightly better. I hope this book reaches the right audience because it really has some important truths and messages to spread.
Huge thank you to Chloe for personally providing me with an advanced copy. I absolutely loved it.
The perfect escapist fantasy with a romance thread running throughout. If you love immersive gaming stories such as ‘Ready Player One’, ‘The Angel of Dreams’ is for you! Main character Alex is battling more than a few demons in her life, both at school and at home. Late one night, she drifts off to sleep only to find herself at Level One, with Player Two. Who is Player Two, and what is this game? Is it real or is it just fantasy?

Thank you to the author for sending me a copy to read and review, as well as a lovely bookmark and friendship bracelet!
I really liked the message of the book it really resonated with me and also Jack having fibro was surprising to see as my mum has it and it’s not widely talked about so that representation was really nice to see. I think it was really wonderful and it was such a joy to read. As someone who struggles with their mental health although not in the way Alex does (I’m autistic) it was really nice to read and to understand in some way what goes on in my head. Finding a good book I can connect with in some way is rare and this was one of those instances. Will definitely be recommending this book.

Excellent book. Chloe is an amazing writer. Her ideas, descriptions, and dialogue are all incredibly well developed and presented in this very interesting story. I will be sharing this book with all of the young women in my family and their families that love them as I am sure it will have a positive impact on their lives.
I really loved all this book had to offer. I felt I was taken to all the places Alex was in this novel. Really easy read and couldn’t get enough of the storyline !
Such a great book! It explores humans emotions in a way you could never imagine! The two main characters are there for each other in every situation. The book reminded me that we are our own hero!
