Watch Me Play Guitar

Rate this book
Watch Me Play Guitar is a young children's guitar method developed for use both by teachers in a typical lesson environment, and parents who wish to materially participate in their child's music education, such as in a home schooling environment. It can be considered a programmed method with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and live performance. Programmed learning simply means that subjects introduced on one page are immediately reviewed on the next page to facilitate comprehension and retention. There are also midway and final reviews to aid in long term retention. The emphasis on positive reinforcement is drawn from modern behavioral science which proves conclusively that children tend to excel at those things for which they receive continued praise, encouragement and enjoyment. As the title suggests, our philosophy naturally extends to the performance aspect of learning to play an instrument. Children love to be the center of attention, and being powerfully and appropriately reinforced for performing can be wonderfully rewarding and can also help in other areas of their personal development as well. Watch Me Play Guitar incorporates enjoyable activities and exercises which are familiar to children such as hidden pictures, coloring, connect the dots, matching pictures with words and fill in the blanks. The result is a truly unique approach to learning music which is fun and rewarding for both the student and the teacher, whether the teacher is a music professional or just a mom or dad who wants to spend some meaningful quality time with their kids.
