Cheyenne has done the unthinkable and fulfilled her mother's destiny through marrying Marcus.
Although she believes it's the key to his defeat, her family does not. Shunned and abandoned by everyone, even Callon, she must come to grips with her choice and push forward for a new, brighter future.
Yet the fight has only just begun. As Marcus gains more and more control over Cheyenne, hungry for the powers she's kept from him, her family are placed in greater and greater danger. And if she can't find his weakness in time, he'll use her to eliminate the remaining Timeless clans forever.
Taming the wilderness of her imagination one story at a time...
Lisa Wiedmeier lives in Idaho with her loving husband, two sons and crazy dog Mandi.
She has tamed the wilderness of her imagination and she has recently completed 8 novels in her Timeless Series, with a ninth book upcoming and a new novel The Gate also in the works.
I hate that I didn't like this book, but I didn't. At all. The writing was much better in the previous books and there were so many typos I found myself annoyed. Quotes such as, "I saw what looked like a couch covered with a sheet..." It was a couch covered with a sheet, just say that! Too many times this author used "what looked like a___ (fill in the blank)" when she could have just told us what it was. Also, by the last chapter I couldn't care less what color eyes everyone had...I couldn't keep up with all the characters anyway. His jade-rimmed eyes met mine. Her green eyes met mine. His gold-rimmed eyes met his icy blue eyes. It lost its effect early in the book.
Also, I found myself skipping many scenes because I was so bored with Cheyenne and the way she always ran away and hid when things went wrong. And it seemed so unrealistic to me the way all 100 characters dropped everything to "protect her," yet she was constantly sneaking out that back door as if she was invisible. It might have been more believable to just make her invisible. The fact that all those people couldn't keep up with her was frustrating.
Finally, I read through most of this book with the hopes that Cheyenne would finally be united with Callan. Colt seemed smothering to me. Callan was the strong leader that she needed to end up with. The way the author just had him "give away" his role to his younger brother, who'd made many more mistakes than Callan, was frustrating. I didn't feel the connection between Colt and Cheyenne that I did in book 1 or 2.
This whole book was just a disappointment to me.

This is the first time that I wished the main character to die. Cheyenne was forever wallowing, whinning, and confuse who to choose. I liked her in the first book but her character starts to plummet down since book 2. No matter how she rationalize that it was necessary to be weak in order to defeat marcus, her weakness has cosumed the entire book 2-3 and half of book 4—its infuriating. Halfway to the last book I wished she'd die, then that would redeem her weakness to me, but that's just my opinion. I hate her character, she love her “family” to sacrifice her life but they sacrificed more for her than the other way around. Other people around her showed more strength and courage throughout the series than she had...she's supposed to be the hero for *** shake—one Katniss in YA world is enough to fill our fantasy world (at least her writer was able to balance her strengths and weaknesses).
Awakening is a good read and a pretty good conclusion to Cheyenne’s Timeless saga. There are things that I like about the way this series completes and things that I do not. The story sorts itself out eventually, and ends on a note that is appropriate for the young adult audience.
The ending is a bit cliche. The thing about this book that bothers me most is the repetitive, angst-filled theme through the first half of the book. While I suppose it reveals what Cheyenne feels and thinks at the time, it is a little too much of the same thing over and over.
The action in the second half of the book is what earns a higher rating from me. It makes the book less stale and far more interesting. For me, this book rates about the same as Daylight (the previous book from the series). 3.75 of 5 stars.
yawn. i fell in love with this series afew yrs ago after reading cheyanne and ive slowly made my way through the series. now after reading book 3 it made me want to grab book 4 and carry on cheyannes journey. 60% of this book is drab and dull nothing happens. i felt like adding it to the dnr pile but i carried on. the last 40% of this book picks but enough to give it more than 2*s. sometimes i find when you get a series based on the same characters the author runs out of ideas and i think this was one of those books. im not going to read anymore books in this series after this one.
a series I wouldve never read if id known what it was however very glad I did I believe it would make a great movie or several. I hate that this is the last book cheyenne is in.. it didnt turn out how I thought it would but I likes it. I wouldnt want to chose between callon and colt I liked them both
I just didn't like it. The plot was fine, but almost too simple. All the complexity of the story was in the main character never knowing what to do and making stupid mistakes. Summed up: too much emotion, not enough reason/logic.
I love this series! For now I can say that it's my favorite book series. I admit at first book four felt somewhat slow but at the same time I wanted to keep reading because I knew something exciting would happen! It didn't disappoint and I loved how this book wrapped things up quite nicely. I cannot wait to continue with the series when I get the chance.
Love this series! I immediately was drawn into the characters and their mysterious lives. I found the storyline unique and intriguing. the entire series grabbed my heart and made me want more.
So Wonderful!!! We were all waiting for finality...well not finality actually, but knowing. Our favorite characters were in turmoil or jeopardy and we wanted them found, content, together, complete.
Cheyenne has been my favorite book for a long time because the story line and the characters were very easy to relate to. Each time the next book is released it is just like seeing a relative or friend you haven’t seen for a while, but “never” have trouble with just picking up where you left off. So we have all been anticipating “Awakening” to release and finally it came at the end of April 2014...YAY!
We all knew a battle was looming in the background, but how and who would be involved in removing Marcus from harming any more Timeless was the all-important question? “How” was Cheyenne going to be the savior they had all been waiting for? “Awakening” has been well worth the wait!
We have had a strong need to see who would stand by Cheyenne, even when she made difficult decisions for those around her to disagree, or “Not” understand why she made them. Decisions that seemed so absurd she must have lost her mind, or was being manipulated.
But, that is when you know who really is your confidant or your true companion, or best friend. The ones who may not understand, but will not turn their backs on you while you stand firm and state, “this truly is the way things need to be”. That is why I love Colt and Daniel soooo much. Loyalty and true friends to the end! I must say as well, that I had written the story in my own mind a long time ago while waiting, and it is a good thing that Lisa agreed with me or my heart may have been broken. Wow, Lisa has outdone herself. :)
This culmination of Cheyenne's story is full of a roller coaster of ever changing emotions Cheyenne has in the wake of her marriage to Marcus. Her timeless family feel betrayed and struggle to understand why she made the decision she did. Callon has left and can't be found and Marcus wants to control her and their joint clan powers. There's a fair bit of battle strategy and I guess it would never have been possible to please everyone with the outcome. I wanted to see something different. I think Lisa is a talented writer and I look forward to future books.
This story line has been so different. You never seem to get comfy and know for sure who is on the good guys team and who is really out for just themselves. I can say that Marcus is one of my favorite bad guys...just because he seems to be a true nut job that goes back and forth from lala land to the real world. Cheyenne really comes into her own in this and fights for all the Timeless and her friends when they don't even trust her after her actions in Daylight. Find out who survives the war on the Timeless clans in this wonderful read.
DNF Nope, nope I knew it. How disappointing. I couldn't take it anymore.....
Chey over the entire span of this series was a whiny, self-centered, obnoxious, spoiled girl who always runs and hides when trouble is near and depends on others to solve her problems.
So Colt isn't dead but alive. Turns out Chey isn't so in love with Callon as she claimed and Callon, who has been a responsible, confident and strong leader just steps aside and leaves it all for his brother...
No no no no no no no.

I will be purchasing the last and final book. Yes I found a few typos but I don't care. This us an amazingly well written novel. When I first came upon the series I was just curious see to as the book had the same title as my name spelled the same too(cheyenne)... the only thing that disappointed me is I honestly feel like she should've married Callon but that's probably just the fact that I myself fell in love with his character.
I couldn't put this book down, either! I couldn't read fast enough as more of this fascinating tale unfolded. As in the previous books in the series, there were twists & turns I never even imagined. I really wish the author would hire a competent editor though as the grammatical errors were numerous in this book as well as the others.
I'm conflicted about reading more books in this series though as I am content with how this one ended.
A great end to a great series. I was so pleased with how everything turned out! Just what I was hoping for! :) What an amazing feat for Lisa to write such an original series! I am looking forward to the other Fated installments to come out and hear some more behind-the-scenes from Cheyenne's life and adventures.
I loved it ! I didn't like the first part of this series too much , but I still continued reading , and was delighted with sequels ! I was not sure until the end with whome will Cheyenne end up, but I am thrilled that ot was Colt . I supported him from the start <3
I loved this book just as much as the first ones. I believe I can say this is one of the few series that I must have book as soon as it is released and want the next one until it is lol. It is definitely worth the time to read it. Quick read, please keep them coming Lisa:)
Amazing series! This series is amazing ,you go through all the emotions. Anger, love, happiness, sadness. First book in a while that I actually cried, swore at,said what the heck and cried some more. Liked the story line and all the characters and the way it ended. Great writing!
Loved the whole series and couldn't wait for the final book. I was disappointed in how it ended. I thought the one who really loved her dumped her after she saved everyone and went back to his girlfriend.
five thousand stars!! A Perfect ending to an amazing story! I love this series and was so emotional throughout the story but it was just perfect and I wouldn't want the author to change a thing :)
The books capture you as soon as you start reading. Just loved the series, unpredictable, never know what going to happen next. My granddaughter is reading it, loves it as much as I did.
