Excuse Me While I Love You

Rate this book
Oakley Charles has two priorities. She is a mom first and an actress second. Being completely consumed by her passions, a beautifully baby girl and a blossoming career, Oakley has no plans to fall in love unless it was with a role.

Westwood Brooks falls in love with Oakley Charles the very first time he lays eyes on her. Unfortunately the timing isn’t right, forcing him to regrettably fall back.

Years later, the two cross paths and Wood is determined to prove his love to Oakley.

Timing is essential but life is what you make it, and Wood plans to make Oakley his.

“Love is a word most people confuse as only being a noun, not understanding the action behind it makes it real.”

If you’re looking for a book of a man OBSESSED with loving on his woman….. dis da oneeeeeeee! This book was so cute and sweet!

Mr. Westwood Brooks met Oakley Charles for the first time during a private screening of her movie & he knew she would be his! Fast forward 4 years later, their paths cross again & magic happens.

Wood was OBSESSED with Oak in a good way and it was cute! I loved the relationship that Wood built with Oak’s daughter! Very good read!

There is NOTHING more sexier than a man who protects you at all COSTS. That’s exactly what Wood did without a second thought. My girl Oakley was trying to keep her distance but she couldn’t for long. Morgan is an author you should be on the look out for because she does not disappoint!

4.5⭐

So I am not one to actively search for stories that feature children/characters as parents, but Rowan is such a cute addition to this story that I just might start. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Oakley being a mom to her.

Now as far as the main characters/the story's couple, knowing that Westwood knew of Oakley before she was a mom and at the beginning of her acting career just shows to me that Oakley remained in his thoughts along with being someone he wanted to know/love. I love that!!

what in the ghislaine maxwell hell is her best friend on.. yall.

i... was not expecting that until the end when she started acting really weird. I thought it was a baby daddy the whole time.

The FMC cried from page one to the end. That was a little bit annoying lol
But it's definitely worth the read. Another five star by this author! She's definitely becoming one of my favorites!

This book was just ok in my opinion. Storylines that have characters falling for one another instantly and being in love always throw me off. It almost seemed like the writer was projecting what she would want from a partner onto Wood. I just expected more depth throughout the book. It wasn’t a bad read but I didn’t stay connected and had to force myself to finish it.

Love.Wanted.Safe
Oakley is simply laser focused on her baby girl and her career, refusing to get entangled with another man. Wood & Oakley previously met but it wasn’t the right time; now years later an opportunity presents itself when Wood is hired to be her personal trainer. Once Wood got the “in” with Oakley, it is a wrap! He refused to let this opportunity pass him by! The way Wood stood ten toes down behind not only Oakley but also Ro (Oakley’s daughter) was simply beautiful! Wood to Oakley- “I’m just loving you properly.”
“If you can tell me what to do, you can tell me what to do” and baby… WOOD DID!!
This book had romance, suspense (who is trying to taint Oakley’s career/success), and the right amount of spice. My goodness…even the ones you consider close, might also switch up on you for their personal gain & jealousy; I was deeply shocked by one of the individuals who was a snake; however, I knew off rip Oakley’s baby daddy wasn’t worth two nickels rubbed together.

Excuse me while I love you

I love it when a man knows he wants a woman and applies pressure when given a chance to do so and shows her how he can and will love her and Wood did that for Oakley. I really liked his character. He was loving and protective and would do anything for Oak and Ro. He said that was his child and neither of them would want for anything.

Oakley had plenty of drama and at a certain point I started looking at Lauren sideways because her actions did not seem like someone trying to get their client and best friend out of the fire from cruel and unnecessary social media commentary and tried to downplay everything that happened. To find out how big of a snake she was had me shaking my head. With friends like her, who needs enemies. I was glad Oak had Wood and her brother and his wife in her corner to be her support system.

This author is quickly becoming one of my faves with the way she tells her stories and I’m looking forward to my next read.

He Was Destined To Have Her!!

Oakley been through it, they claim she slept her way to get lead part in the movie. Oakley has been on Wood's mind for past four years. He has never forgot about her. All his people thought he was crazy. Four years is a long time to be be on someone's mind. Her so-called bestfriend and agent had to get her name out there by any means possible. Wood showed up when she needed someone on the most. His opportunity fell in his lap. He was made to to protect her when she was threatened. Ace didn't like that because he has been protecting her for so long. Wood just wanted to love Oakley and his daughter as he called her. She went to Wildle for advice because she knew that she couldn't trust Lauren an more. Lauren showed her true colors at the after party. If I was Oakley I would have done more to her.

🏋🏾Excuse Me While I Love You by Morgan Rose ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This story follows Oak and Woods, and their dynamic was really enjoyable. Oak is an actress, Woods is a personal trainer, and together they prove that old saying—“if he wanted to, he would”—is written all through this book.

Woods shows up, puts in the effort, and makes his intentions clear, which made the romance feel intentional and satisfying. Their connection grows naturally, and the balance between their two very different worlds added depth to the story.

This was a solid, feel-good romance with strong moments that made it easy to root for them. Definitely a 4-star read for me—sweet, affirming, and worth the time.

The best Wood is Oak.

Okay, I knew it was a reason I wanted to read this book. Authors to the best at promoting their own work. I was drawn in by a TikTok video.

The pressure and protection that Wood provided to Oak and little momma. YES!!!! Making me want to get a personal trainer. LBVS.

Let's talk about the drama that I was not expecting but love. Written very well, I might add. I had the wrong person being the super villain. That is all I am going to say about that.

Read the book and enjoy it like I did.

Go get you one of these

Morgan absolutely did a phenomenal job of putting true love on a page. The moment that Westwood aka Wood meets Oakley aka Oak, it was a wrap for him. After a series of unexpected events for Oakley, she’s finally put in the right place at the right time to receive the love that she deserves. However, is she too hurt to allow that love to happen? Wood is Bae

The love Wood had for Oak made him swoonworthy. To see a man stop at nothing to do what was necessary for his woman had me rubbing my feet together while smiling wide. Not to mention the instant connection between Wood and Ro. I loved their bond. But don't take my word for it, get into this great story and see for yourself.

Sweet read

Westwood & Oakley!!! After a second chance meeting, Wood gave full court pressure to Oak. Oak wasn't looking for a relationship. She wanted to reestablished her career and take care of her daughter. Wood wanted Oak as and everything that came with her. It's a gentle love story.

Westwood for the win!

I loved this so much. When a man knows he knows! And will go above and beyond to make sure you know too without any doubt. This was a feel good, love me down, boost me up, and guard my heart and life kinda book, and I was here for all of it. Highly recommend.

Loved it.

Wood was not playing when it came down to Oak and Ro. He made it know that they were his family and he protects the ones he love. This was a good read.

Excuse Me While I Love You by Morgan Rose was such a heartwarming read! I absolutely adored the unique and thoughtful character names—Oakley, Westwood (Wood), Asa, and Wilde all fit together so perfectly.

Wood’s love for Oakley was undeniable from the very beginning, and I loved how intentional and unapologetic he was in proving himself to her. He didn’t just love Oakley; he cherished her and Ro, never playing when it came to them. Oakley’s hesitation made perfect sense, given her priorities, but watching her let her guard down and allow herself to be loved the right way was so rewarding.

And Lauren? Yeah, I knew she was a snake from the start—it never gave “best friend” at all! Asa and Wilde were also great supporting characters, adding to the depth of the story.

This book had me smiling from start to finish. The romance was sweet, heartfelt, and just the kind of love story I’d happily revisit. I could easily see myself re-reading this at least once a year!
