The Colonists at Roanoke Island; a Pug's Point of View

Rate this book
The mystery of the Lost Colony is one that has never been solved. The speculation goes on but in this fictional account, Eleanor Dare's pet pug, Winifred, relates what life is like in the colony. Arriving in England from China, Winifred is presented to Queen Elizabeth by Sir Walter Raleigh. Rejected and laughed at by the queen, Winifred then accompanies Raleigh to the dock to send the ship, the Elizabeth II, along with 115 colonists, off to the New World. She meets Eleanor Dare and it is love at first sight. They bond and Winifred feels content until baby Virginia comes on the scene. Distressed by the rejection and the colony's problems, Winifred feels she has no choice but to embark on a life-threatening adventure! Full of facts, the story is told from a true to character pug's point of view.
