Daisy Landish is a romance and contemporary fiction author, whose clean and sweet novellas have tugged at readers’ heartstrings around the world. When she’s not writing love stories, Daisy spends her time reading, hiking at dawn, and riding into the sunset on her horse, Rosebud.
Sweet Time: A Clean Small Town Romance (Maplewood Grove Book 3), my forty-first enjoyable short (54-page) romance read from author Daisy Landish that I finished in under an hour, very different than her amateur sleuth mysteries I'd read previously “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author & in this series with Sweet Deal: A Clean Small Town Romance (Maplewood Grove Book 4) due out on October 9. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.
This is sweet and so delightfully Daisy Landish good. When Sophie Davis pitches her plans for Maplewood Grove’s event plans to Mayor Gene Beckett. With the stalwart support of the town’s Sheriff her friend Colton/ Cole Rhodes. So first things first Cole convinces her to draw up a plan to raise funds and a proper quote from,a contractor , he recommends someone . Well she’s impressed that she hasn’t got to call New York to get her own contractors involved. And welcomes the heads up about Brooks Built LLC. She didn’t expect a grump though in the shape of Liam Brooks and he was completely her nemesis trait. Great big sparks and hearts a falling it’s not snowing that makes cheeks start positively glowing… well what do you know it must’ve been fate , well ok Cole had an hand in it, but they clash less and less as she no longer is cashless to start . And maybe he is now a mate….What a wake up to her heart and what’s more he she lays down her laws and he comes around to her way of thinking . He even fights her corner with the townspeople too. Telling them all about how sound are her ideas and she wants to do good of the town not tear it down . His next spiel stuns her even more …she’s agog and aghast by support from the grump at last. Sweet time is just that a really sweet grumpy and sunshine read . Perfectly sublime writing . Characters awesome too. Love all that this author writes and this was no exception.
Liam, the only friend left in his friend group to be single, is feeling it.
Sophie who is new to town has plans to add to Maplewood grove. She has so many plans, if only she knew a carpenter?, ohh wait she does, but they don't get on…
Their relationship is so comical to read as they are so against each other but you can see that they like each other. It's Frustrating! What could Liam have said to Sophie in the past to make her feel this way?
Liam surprises the whole town and the reader with what he does for Sophie. You'll have to read it to find out just what.
Sophie let's him be her friend and that's all it takes for them both to soften.
I have to mention the puppy that they adopt. He really brings out the softness in Liam.
When Liam tells his friends the wrong things about Sophie and she overhears, will this be the end of what they had built?
Sophie feels like she is a joke and a failure and that no one is at the fundraiser for her but for Liam. Will they come together in the end? Can Liam mend a broken heart? Will the town see that Sophie is the one who will make Maplewood Grove a better place? And Will Sophie see that she is worth so much more than she believes?
Well, the grump of the group was bumped into on Halloween by a woman dressed ass a fairy. Full fairy wings and all and Liam grumps at her. Sophie may be short, but big spirit. As a former successful event planner in NYC Sophie quits and moves to Maple Shade. She spearheads into offering to raise funds for things in town that need fixing. That is something that it not in the small town budget, but she is confident she can raise the funds. She needs a contractor to get an estimate so she knows how much has to be raised. Low aand behold, she finds herself standing in the office of that rude man she ran into in Halloween. All she can say is "YOU!" He responds by calling her Tinkerbell. And they are off and running. A battle of attitudes, one grumpy, one cheerful. This was a refreshing and clean read. I enjoyed this book.
This third book of the series is the longest at eleven chapters, but still a fast read. Liam is the primary male star in this story. What type of work does he do? Oh, Liam and his running away from his friends and their girlfriends was funny! Who is Sophie? How does she know Cole, and why is she meeting him at the Mayor's office? How do Sophie and Liam meet? The early morning texts were funny. Sophie does make me think of Tinkerbell 40% of the way into the story. Oh, Liam.... at the town meeting, taking Dot head-on and volunteering himself for things is so funny. How does everyone react to it? What happens that shatters Sophie's heart into a million pieces? Can it be repaired? Read and see what happens!
Small Town Change I felt a bit lost stepping back into this novella series. While I liked Sophie and Liam and some of the personal challenges that they had, it took me until the end of the novel to figure out exactly what Sophie was doing in town. Perhaps the story was too brief for me to really connect to. It just seems like some of these rather large town-based events just “happened “ as this relationship developed. Somehow with so many parts of the story not feeling realistic or cohesive within a small town context, it was ok but not one I would read again.
Well written, fast paced novella. Liam has lived in town as the town builder also very grumpy and always willing to butt heads with others. Has lots of interactions and reactions between Sophie and Liam. They both have meet earlier at the Halloween celebration and had some misunderstandings to deal with. They just have to find a way to get past the barriers to reach their happiness. Again always great to read of some of the other characters from earlier stories. Great characters. Would recommend to everyone. I received this story and leave this unbiased, honest review.
Sweet Time is book #3 in the Maplewood Grove series by Daisy Landish.
This book features Liam’s story. Sophie Davis has beatification plan for Maplewood Grove that will be a hard sell to fund. Can these two who got off on the wrong foot work together? Will Liam no longer be the fifth wheel? This was a sweet, quick read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this pleasant short romance story. I did wish for more character background on both, especially Sophie. Having read the earlier novellas in the series I already knew of Liam but new readers might appreciate more details. I liked their sass back and forth. I still wondering what is the new puppy's name.
I received a free copy of this book via StoryOrigin and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Book 1 was Ethan and Olivias story, book 2 was Noah and Hannahs story and book 3 is Liam and Sophies story. Friends for more than a decade, each of them finally found the happiness that only a true loving relationship can bring. Short stories but worth reading. A clean small town romance that you'll love.
Sophie Davis is effusive and bubbly. Liam Brooks is no-nonsense and gruff. They first met at a Halloween event and it did not go well. Can they put aside their differences to work together on a charity project?
This novella is just right for an afternoon read. I received a free copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.
Another great book in this series (all can be read stand alone). Liam and Sophie did not have a great start when they first met. This is such a sweet uplifting romance with great characters. It is a fairly quick read, so perfect for an afternoon of relaxing and dreaming.
Way too short, so no real character development. That being said, the story is sweet and cute. Sophie and Liam really had an unfortunate beginning. I loved Sophie’s personality. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I loved this grumpy-sunshine story of Liam and Sophie. There were such funny moments between these two and then moments where I didn't think they would get through it. I really enjoyed this lovely story.
Since his friends started finding their true love he feels like he's become the5 th wheel. With his dating history he doesn't have much hope for himself. Then Tinker Bell comes to town and things start to look hopeful. Will she be his chance or another strike against him.
This is a sweet short story connected to a series but can be read as a standalone. The characters and worldbuilding are wonderful. A fast paced quick read. Kisses only so no worries about spice except for the snarky comments being thrown around.
I love this series, each book is short, but not too short for the story each book building on the last. This time we meet Liam and Sophie who don't quite hit it off at first, but soon they start to fall for each other.
New to town Sophie crosses paths with Liam. They butt heads from the start. She begins to worm her way into his heart. Sophie is a type A and Liam just can't help finding a ray of sunshine in her. This is a nice short read.
