The insight to Hinault’s personality is fascinating as is his version of events re: Lemond - although despite the best efforts of the translator the timescales still jump around the place, so don’t expect a linear flow to things. Taking Hinault’s writings and placing commentary around it may have created a fuller picture of this legend of cycling, but doubt Hinault would have agreed to it!
