I love learning about anything mystery or paranormal, so this is a topic that's right up my alley. I first learned about the Mary Celeste on the Astonishing Legends podcast, and so this guide piqued my interest. This book is a nice resource for all the historical information regarding the build and usage of the ship leading up until the fateful voyage. While the authors do touch on the mystical reasons for the ship's disappearance, the book focuses more on the natural and people elements. I found the material easy-to-read, informative without being verbose, and quick to digest.

Mary Celeste a “ghost” ship remains a mystery. It was found floating near the Azores area and was without a crew and passengers. The ship itself got off to a rough start when there were several misfortunes in the beginning and some said that it was cursed.

The book explores what happened and there were many wild theories floating around. It was an interesting read and almost read like a mystery novel.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. While I was aware of the Mary Celeste, it was nice to learn about its history and what happened to it after. I'm sure I share the curiosity of what happened to the people who disappeared.

A mystery ship, jinxed from its first voyage under a different name, later becoming notorious for mishaps and finally for being found near the Azores with nobody on board.
