I've not read anything by this author in over four years, since the last of the Battaglia Mafia Series. I bought other books by her that I just couldn't get into. When I saw Kink, I immediately bought it and started reading it. It took me a week to read this book when I usually read her books straight through. Perhaps because it wasn't, as Sienna Mynx said, a series but rather a four-part book.
If it had been a series, perhaps the last two parts wouldn't have been rushed. In a series the characters could have been more fully developed. You could have understood, as one reviewer said, "the heartbreaking, relentless pursuit of soul crushing passion" and "could have seen the unbreakable human spirit with the will to protect the ones you love no matter the consequences".
There were so many main characters, it was difficult at times to understand who the "good guys" were. Ruby and Dashiel were the main couple but was theirs a true love? Was Imani in love with Nikolas or Henry? What was the true relationship between Valleta and Carrie; and who had the real power? Was,some of the deaths necessary? Even the answers to some of these questions weren't believable
Her books are often very erotic romances. This one had depravity and corruption intertwined with sexual pleasure; yet there was no explicit, graphic sex.
As with most romances, there were HEAs, just not satisfying. I think a second read is necessary to get more clarity. Another book with Ruby, Dashiel, Imani and Henry would help.
This was the true Sienna Mynx! The one I loved from the Battaglia Mafia series. This book was fire from the first go. Ruby and Dashiel was a love story you were routing for the entire time, even through all the chaos in both of their lives. The ups and downs that you knew were going to destroy them. The added bonus of Imani and Henry only created more intrigue and “what next” moments. Welcome back Sienna! Loved it!
I couldn't stop reading until the end. I'm glad you're back Ms. Mynx. Even though there are some editing errors, this plot is worth 5 stars. Your imagination is phenomenal.
This group of friends was very interesting characters. Once I started I became hooked to reading all this storyline. I give 5 stars! The book review stars kept me from using its feature. Nevertheless the whole book's storyline was amazing.
I got to admit I have no idea what I was getting into, and that's ok. Part I was the most frustrating part of the book because there was so much plot and plotting and going in the past to present. Ruby and Dashial are perfect for each other. They are the most unreliable narrator to their adrenaline life. There was a moment I was reading part I and thought somebody here had got to have a split personality. Oh, there is an edit issue on page 156, I think Part II is Imana and Henry, and their story is rough, kinky complex ish and here for it. Miss Sienna could have gone ultra dark with those two, and I'd be here for it, hahaha. I was able to figure out the real plot, and it paced perfectly in Part III with who has been pulling the string. Out of those two couples, I favor Imani and Henry Chapter 73 is a repeat... In conclusion, a great read despite the minor edit, I still give it a five-star.
A pawn is a power tool in the game of chess, 2 pawns are even more powerful... they are often thought of as easy tools to discard..as meaningless because the Queen, King and Knight along with the Rook are the power players..but in Kink..the pawns real and most valuable power was love...good on fashion heartbreaking.. relentless pursuit of soul crushing passion and the unbreakable human spirit..this raw as a book can get..delving into depths of depravity and corruption of evil introduced throughout sexual pleasures..but besides that..the sheer will to protect the ones you love no matter what the consequences.. elevated the pawns to become Queens and their dark Knight became their Knights in shining armor.
What did I think?! I think this is one of the best books I've read this year! This book is a wonderful reintroduction to one of the best authors in this genre. Complex characters, unexpected plot twists and turns, angst, shock and awe, pearl-clutching scenes, and two love stories, that keep you guessing. I think I may have missed this when it first dropped because the cover implies (at least to me) that their might have been some MFF relations. However, after inquiring, I learned that it is not and I'm so glad that I asked. I highly recommend reading. Although, it does include some potential triggers. It's been several days since I finished and the story is still in my head. Ms. Mynx, welcome back from your well-deserved hiatus. And thank you for always delivering!
I love creative, innovative, and awesome twists on romances. I started reading this book as a Vella, and it has lived up to all my expectations. Sienna Mynx is one of my all-time fave authors and today this book landed like a much-needed gift and gave me life!
Loved the story, characters, plots. Glad Dash and Ruby found their way back to each other. Was shocked about Henry and Imani. Nickolas was the man! My only issue is the small grammar errors.
Excellent!!!! I couldn’t and almost didn’t put it down. The characters were crazy but I loved them. Although there were a few typos still didn’t take away from the interesting story. Great work!!!
While the storyline and characters were very interesting, the book was entirely too long. The author could have shortened it by 25% and still told a full, rich story.
Wow this book was intense. Ruby went THROUGH it in this book omg! She deserved her hea after all that heartbreak. Loved the book, once again Sienna Mynx did not disappoint. The perfect amount of romance and conflict. A definite page turner, can’t wait for her next book.
Just one thing… F*CK Henry! He did not deserve Imani. Poor Nicholas, he and Imani should have been endgame. Henry was such a deplorable character, like beyond disgusting.
