Amid a grueling feud between two dominant royals fighting for their right to rule, an ancient artifact surfaces from hiding.
Eager to claim the limitless power, both brothers march their armies upon the battlefield as winter freezes the land. The feared Black Prince slithers from exile to usurp control over Hostellus and seek his vengeance, and the king rallies his massive forces to defend his homeland while the scavengers of war await in the shadows to pick the slain clean at the end of each day.
A third brother stands between them, unsure of which side to favor. On one hand, support for the king and the bloodthirsty campaign he sends forth, and on the other, treason against the crown to aid a banished enemy as the true intentions for the Sword of Kings rise.
Chaos spreads across the lands, and sacrifices must be made. Will the three Sons of Osiris brothers find a peaceful conclusion, or will bloodshed tear their family apart?
This book was so amazing 🤩 I love the authors ability to describe a world or object. The book is an outstanding fantasy and I can not wait to read book 2! Also I just wanna say my heart is broken not gonna spoil it though 😭😭

“ I am the harbinger of your death, the unholy angel of lament!” the prince shouted, his red eyes glowing like fire.“ I do not bring mercy, I bring ...damnation!”
This book was fascinating and action-packed as expected. The Black Prince, Zedadia and his brother, Matticus are on a quest to find the ancient artifact, the Sword of Osiris to gain the upper hand against each other. But, they are not the only people searching for it. The Sword is said to grant immense power to the wielder.
There is quite a history between Zedadia and Matticus, which turns this war into a personal vendetta. It was interesting to see the opposing views of the two play out simultaneously. This gave a new perspective to the war, which I enjoyed a lot.
The prose was eloquent but felt rather long at some places. There was an overload of information in certain parts, which makes sense for the first book of a series. We got to see the brothers as kings in a war and as human beings outside it. The third brother was an interesting addition to the perspective as we got to see the incidents from a neutral standpoint from him.
We also got to see the side quest to find the Sword happening alongside the war. I enjoyed this part the best as I love such adventures. I loved the concept of magic introduced here. It lacked explanation for the most part, but it was interesting to read.
Murders, betrayal, love and war impressively packaged into the beginning of the series, The Sword of Kings was an incredible read!
4.5 ⭐️ For fans of Tolkien and George R.R Martin this epic fantasy gives you everything you want in just 330 pages. If you love fantasy books with politics and battle scenes then this is for you 👏🏼
Three brothers, one is a king, another is an exiled dark prince, and the other is just looking for direction in life.
We’re taken on a quest to find an artifact of power. We get some amazing battle scenes that gave me absolute chills! There’s a little bit of a romance side plot and a little bit of spice. 🤭
The writing was so good you wouldn’t guess this was his debut book. It had a well developed plot and the world building wasn’t too flowery where you couldn’t understand. It did require brainpower in the first 50 pages as does every fantasy but after that you’re sucked into the story and don’t want to put it down. I think the ending ties everything up nicely but still leaves you wanting the next book.
This book was very well written you would never guess it is Michael’s debut novel. It did take me till about chapter 10 to really get into the story but once I did I was hooked This is a dark high fantasy read that reminded me of the sword in the stone meets lord of the rings but a little bit darker. You have three brothers the eldest Brother is King the middle brother the black prince is exiled for his past wrong deeds and the older brother has a huge vendetta against him. The youngest son is nutreul between his brothers fued but craves to be of use to his older brother he wants more in life and cares for his exhiled brother. They are all racing to find this relic sword a goddess created their family line it is a symbol of great power and it was lost to their family line centuries ago, but recently has resurfaced so they’re all racing to try and find the sword first. This book had very Unique magic, world building & a unique language the the author came up with all on his own. Multiple pov If you like epic battles, descriptive, and vivid world building, betrayals that’ll gut you, battle planning, & really good politics then this high dark fantasy is the book for you.
Book was really engaging and fun to read had me rooting for the perceived villain to win, the battles were great to read with alot of action and tactics thought out so i really enjoyed it
