Lost Whispers, is a quaint and charming fantasy story meant for middle-grade age (8-12 years old). It’s a really fun story and there’s some very captivating plot and action based around dragons. This interesting plot and action was the main reason I enjoyed this story and I would really love to see a ninety/hundred thousand word version of this story. This greater word count would allow for a more detailed approach to the plot and the characters, but that’s just my subjective view, as that’s what I’m used to as a reader. I would have certainly been satisfied with the content and reading level if I was in the middle-grade bracket that this book is targeted towards.
Trina, the main character, is also likeable and her adventure is an enjoyable read. Her own learning and experiences on this journey are developed well, and is of a sufficient level to positively influence the reading age group without putting them off with too much intricacy that self-discovery can create. The other characters Trina meets on her journey are relatively well developed too, and the relationships work as much as they can in the limited space and for the reading level of middle-grade.
Like one of the previous reviews I will say that the small Christian aspect that appears every so often might be foreign or strange to some readers, but may also be loved and appreciated by others. So whatever your tastes I felt it necessary to highlight this for your consideration.
As I am not middle-grade age, I would have given, Lost Whispers, three stars as I did like it, but there is so much more that could be done to make this story appeal to my preferences. With that said, I’ve given it four stars as if I was in the middle-grade I would have been content and happy because there are some really awesome dragons in this story :).

This is a time and place 'shift' book which taps into the elemental questions we all have whatever age we may be. What if this world is not the only one, and what if there are new challenges we can overcome? Trina, the main character, wakes up one morning in an unfamiliar world which she must explore and understand along with her little brother and her kitten! She discovers an enchanting world of dragons, and comes to realise that she alone has special powers which enable her to fulfil her destiny and purpose in the world as part of God's plan. Written in the first person, there is suspense and interest all the way making it a very engaging and fun story for older children.

For a UK audience I would say this is for an older primary school age P4 to P7

I was amazed when I found out that the author was only ten years old. Her imagination and depth of characters was captivating. The book was full of action. The main character showed leadership, strength of character, consideration, and love for others. When you start reading this, you don't want to stop. If you HAVE to stop, you hurry so that you can get back to it. This book would be great for all ages and especially good for a parent to read to their children. I recently learned that Samantha D. Meshla is a pen name and other books have been written by this author under the name, Sarah Newman.

This clean fantasy book seems to be aimed towards the ages 9-12. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes fantasy -- any age. It is interesting from paragraph one until the final sentence. There is something happening constantly. There is no offensive content unless you are offended by the occasional mention of God or prayer. One would not have to worry about a young person reading it. I, my husband, my mother, my 17-year-old daughter, and my 13-year old daughter have all read it, and each of us enjoyed it.

Any kid who enjoyed the Magic Tree House books but has started to outgrow the early ones should love this book! The characters are consistent and sensible and have exciting adventures. The story has some definite Christian elements, which readers may wish to be aware of when choosing whether to read this book. The story grows to an epic adventure which should appeal to young readers who enjoy stories with dragons, particularly fans of Eragon.

A nice book about dragons, Trina and Evan her brother which they have found a pendant and are mysteriously arrived into another world and met Willow a dragon keeper that she said to Trina "You are the one who will win the battle against Krey Redgazer" he secret killed almost all the dragons. So Trina is involved to save dragons. Interesting book to read for who like fairytales and dragons, i liked it.
