Daisy is a cat that has been adopted from a pet shelter and the easy reader story introduces the reader to Daisy's new family, including Henry the dog, who she thought she would never like.

This book was sweet, and easy to read, and I love how the backstory of Daisy's previous owner was treated with such kindness -- not everyone who surrenders a pet is a monster. The illustrations were very cute, especially the drawing of the cats.

An easy reader that gives a basic view of a real life shelter cat. Adorable illustrations!

So many young readers are animal lovers. This book is perfect for them, and it's based on a true story.
Daisy, the cat, is being adopted, moving out of the animal shelter. Soon she will live with Jake (a little boy) and Henry. Uh-oh, Henry turns out to be a dog, and Daisy definitely dislikes dogs.
Language in this Level 2 Reading Book is direct; it sounds very much like how a child would talk. For instance, what happens when Daisy tries to play ball with Henry?
He catches it in his mouth.
Now there is slobber on it.
Dogs are gross.
This game is over.
The heartwarming ending seals the deal: To this Goodreader, this is a FIVE STAR book.
