Cofounder of the Magnum agency with Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa, David “Chim” Seymour (1911–1956) was one of the most acclaimed photojournalists of the twentieth century, and a man who documented his times with a keen social conscience, always determined to be “in the middle of the action.” Working for leading magazines such as Life and Regards , Seymour covered the most significant events of the postwar the Spanish Civil War; the places and faces of a Europe ravaged by World War II; the hopes placed in the new State of Israel.
