A super quick read with short stories about Japanese and American culture. Very enjoyable to read and humorous as well! It's funny that some things we find strange about Japan - the fad of having weddings at a church even though you're not Christian - also exists in the West, too. I also appreciated her opinion on the benefit to peoples' mood of everyone being polite - even if you didn't do anything wrong.

7words summary : America culture Japan perspectives language exchange lifestyle

What is the lesson from this book?
-I learned that I have to remember "language is just a tool of communication."
In this book, the auther says Keigo is a polite way of Japanese communication while business circumstances. However, like she couldn't understand Keigo because she hadn't spent so much in Japan at that time, no matter how polite Keigo is, it didn't mean anything to use Keigo.
How important to be flexible in this global society, is what I learned.

Kindness, is really special in Japan?
For auther, the stationary saying"good morning" every morning to the customers with big voice is very strange since it rarely happens in the us.
But, When I think of my stay in Hawaii, I saw so many people saying Aloha!!! to all the people acrossing the streets.
Probably, people in Japan and Hawaii are kind of similar because they are both islands citizens.
Somehow they have very common spirits I guess.
