I must admit this series filled in a lot gaps in the ending of the war of the Empire an the Confederate. The relationship between the two powers, the Empire and the Federation was good beginning for a storyline, but I never could fully grasp where (time frame wise) the Empire and the Federation split. Why the Human Federation aloud the other groups of humans in the Empire to be sacrifices and subject to a harsh domination by the Confederation! Granted keeping the Morag as their guardian still seem somewhat inhumane! Looking forward to seeing how this play out in the next instalment of this series.
Slade has the rare ability to communcate vast distants mentally. His ability can be used to control others. The Jartians have the largest fleet and are intent on destroying humankind. The reader will enjoy this tale of war, secrets and love. Did I mention another empire of humans? Julie doesn't disappoint in this weaving tale with plenty twists and turns.
It is a good book, merge very well the history of both human empires, really waiting for the next book, like so much to see how they going to deal with the Jatarians
