PLEASE This is a holiday short. Something sweet. Just enough.
Sonoma has always loved Kingston, her charismatic best friend, but she’s kept her feelings a secret for years. As they prepare for the New Year, she’s struggling with the reality of him leaving for a job in London. Faced with the looming deadline, Sonoma must decide whether to confess her love and risk their friendship or let him leave without ever knowing her true feelings. With time slipping away, the days leading up to New Year’s become a whirlwind of emotions, memories, and the hope that love might finally take center stage.
Sonoma and Kingston have been tight since they were tots. Growing up so close, made them best friends experiencing all of life together. At some point those friendly feelings changed to something more. Not wanting to interrupt their friendship, Sonoma kept quiet.
Now Kingston is moving to London to accept a new job, and she wants, no needs to tell him how she feels before he leaves. But how? At the last moment she tells Kingston of her feelings, only to find out he feels exactly the same way. Cute quick read.
A Sweet, endearing, and beautiful love story! Thee Tasha Marie writes the best novella leaving you wanting more! Can’t wait to see if there will be another follow up with these two!
This was a soft, cozy friends to lovers moment that did exactly what a holiday short should do. Sonoma and Kingston already had that easy chemistry from jump, so watching them finally stop dancing around their feelings felt satisfying instead of rushed. You can tell the love was already there, it just needed permission to come to the surface.
I really enjoyed how much history was packed into such a short page count. The quiet longing, the timing issues, the weight of unspoken feelings all landed well. It felt warm and very much rooted in emotional comfort rather than big dramatic gestures.
Once things shifted, I would have loved an extra beat or two to fully savor them choosing each other. Still, for a short read, this delivered heart, sweetness, and a solid payoff. Overall, it was a gentle, feel good friends to lovers story that left me smiling and wishing we could check back in on them down the road.
Hmmm 🤔, “Always, Kingston: A Friends To Lovers Short” was an endearing story of best friends Sonoma & Kingston which will probably experience a wonderful life together traveling & building a family. Nonetheless, inquiring minds (ME) wants to know, what’s Sonoma’s security clearance level🤯⁉️And how in the world did she rollup on a non existent airport curbside parking without creating a code red security breach between the FBI, CIA & Homeland Security 🤷🏾♀️🤔🤭⁉️
I’m spinning the block on all of your short reads. Ughhh, Kingston and Sonoma were everything. I really hope you spin the block on these two. I’d love to visualize them in London. Maybe with a growing belly.
This was such a cute and short romantic story. Yes it was short, put the history of the two of them and the long love that they have for each other, made this story seem so long yet well written.
Sonoma annoyed me lol. I get her stance, I do, but she and Kingston have been friends since the sandbox. It really shouldn’t have been this hard to communicate.
Thee Tasha Mariee is actually working up my most-read authors list this year, I love that he reads are short and to the point to be transparent; she gives me everything I need in a short amount of time.
Of course I loved the connection between Kingston and Sonoma, the miscommunication trope isn’t one of my favorites; but they got it together by the end!
