Now, Hale is a man on the run, hunted by enemies who underestimate his resolve. With only his loyal handler, Laney Shaw, to trust, he launches a one-man war for the truth, uncovering a conspiracy that traces back to the very heart of the nation he so loves.

But Ian Hale was born for this fight, and surrender isn’t an option. It never was.

I have been reading the Mason Sharpe series for a time now and I really enjoy them. So when I saw that Logan Ryles had a new series about ex soldier Ian Hale I thought that I need to try that one. Luckily I managed to score an advance copy of Line of Fire. It was all I thought it would be and then some, High speed and filled with great charaters and well written plot. I was hooked from the first page and I will recommend this new series to all that can stand my ramblings. I must thank Severn River Publishing and Edelweiss for giving me this copy, the book is live in stores on November 11th.

Took some reading at 494 pages...

A lot of story ! An Ian Hale Book 1

Betrayed. Hunted. Driven by duty. A fast paced action thriller

Born into a legacy of heroes, Ian Hale ascended from the 75th Ranger Regiment to Delta Force, dedicating his life to the cause of freedom. But when a Black Hawk crash ends his military career, he is left searching for purpose—until Sentinel offers him a fresh start. A private military firm known for its high-stakes operations, Sentinel promises danger and noble causes, the perfect match for his skill set. Or so it seems.

Hale’s latest mission is simple: rescue a kidnapped business executive from South Sudan. But when his team is ambushed and slaughtered, leaving Hale as the sole survivor, he’s forced to confront the truth—he’s been set up. Someone wants his team dead, and they’ll stop at nothing to finish the job.

Well paced, strong characters, international settings, good story.

This could have been a 5 Star novel, but 564 pages? 450 pages would have been better. Too much miscellaneous info that I really didn't need, but the story was very good. Great cast of characters and
a good amount of some kick-ass action.
Thanks to Severn River Publishing for the ARC and it's definitely worth reading. Due out Nov. 11th!!

When an author like Logan Ryles, so skilled at cranking out action-packed thrillers in his Mason Sharpe and Prosecution Force series, comes out with a brand-new character to build adventures around, the expectations are high. I'm happy to report that Line of Fire, featuring stoic patriot Ian Hale, delivers the goods in high measure.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not someone who idolizes those who call themselves patriots, especially in this day and age - it's often an excuse to rigidly hold an outdated and/or extreme point of view, without regards to the consequences. In this new series, the protagonist demonstrates the best qualities brought down through his bloodline over the past 250 years - honor, courage, determination, incorruptibility and valor. Despite the price and pain, painted so well by Ryles, Ian Hale does not waver in his steadfastness to those core principles.

Suffice it to say, with Ryles providing the solid foundation like in his other action-packed thrillers, once things start rolling, the momentum keeps building, and the pages turn fast as the intriguing plot builds in crescendo until justice is served.

While I won't spoil the ending, the only question remaining is, how does Ian Hale pick up the pieces after? With that said, I can't wait until volume 2 comes out to see where this exceptional new series takes us next!

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the start of a new series. It begins with Ian and his team from Sentinel in South Sudan to rescue an individual who was abducted. The team arrives at the location where the hostage is and they make their move. They are able to do the rescue, but on the way out they come under attack by a large militia group and wind up in a battle. As it turns the hostage as well as the team with the exception of Ian are killed and Ian manages to escape. Ian on arriving back at hdqts. wants to go back to Jabal to conduct an investigation. Instead he is assigned to protect a client in Belgium which does not go well.
With this result, Ian decides that he is going to look in the Sudan incident on his own.

Read along and follow Ian's progress as he pursues lead, learn what obstacles he has to overcome and in the end discover how is responsible for the attacks that killed Ian's team and protectees.

The story has a lot of action and will keep your interest. This is the start of a real good series and not to be missed! Get it now, don't miss out!

New series and all new characters from one of my must read authors. Ian Hale is former Delta Force, now an operative for Sentinel. A rescue mission in Sudan goes south and he is the only survivor. Bad intel. Ian takes a contract as a bodyguard and is ambushed again. Two attempts on his life are no coincidence and had to have inside help. Not knowing how high up the corruption goes, he decides to not trust his boss, Laney Shaw, or her boss Thatcher. Two more assassination attempts by elite killers and the bad guys are panicking. Hale doesn't want revenge, he wants justice for his team that were murdered by someone they trusted. This book is so action packed, you will wonder where the time went.

The hits keep rolling

What can I say, Mr. Logan Ryles did it again. When I first heard of this project I was really excited, I've only read his Prosecution Force books but I knew this would be a hit. So much so that I took my time with this novel and it was worth the wait.

Ian Hale is now one of my top ten Thriller Characters. I'll definitely make a list at some point. But back to the review, the plot was interesting, the characters were great and it was a never ending thrill ride. 10/10

Can't wait for more Ian Hale.

Superb start to a new series.

Ian Hale finds himself searching for answers after being attacked by mercenaries whilst trying to free a hostage and losing his team mates in what turns out to be a betrayal by the very people who sent them on the rescue mission.
Whilst trying to find answers he is again targeted by mercenaries employed by the company he works for and the body count rises as he defends himself against the assassins paid to kill him.
Absolutely brilliant storyline and I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

Mostly a three for the following reasons:
---Way too long had to force myself to finish.
---Not as good as the Mason Sharpe series
---One of the bad guys was obvious from the start. How does an elite group of former Seals/Rangers get ambushed without a traitor? How many attempts on Ian's life does it take to sink in?
---Different locations (Belgrade/Berlin/Boston) but kind of the same plot (ambush/kill/win/repeat).

Once I got into this book I found it to be something that I wanted to keep reading to get to the end (in a good way). Fast paced and the characters were very likable and highly developed. All the suspense and how the main character figured out what to do was very interesting. I actually like this author a lot and was very happy to have found this series. If you want something that will keep you entertained throughout the book this is the book to read.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review. This is s continuation of a great series from this author. The story is about contract ex soldiers doing jobs the military can’t. The book starts fast and continues fast throughout. It keeps the reader wanting more and you won’t be disappointed. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Ian Hale is a true patriot, served proudly in the Army as all his ancestors did. After a helicopter crash he has to retire and starts to work for a PMC led by an old friend. But during a rescue action in Sudan he finds his team ambushed and from there things are going downhill fast. Lots of action, lots of surprising twists. Impossible to put down, highly recommended.

As a private contractor to a massive organization there should have only been danger from the missions. That was before his boss turned rogue and set the whole world out to kill him. Good action book.

LINE OF FIRE - They shouldn't have done that, and that, and that. Then, they do stupid again. It's no wonder Ian reacted as he did. Plenty of action, plenty of 'why did they open another can', and plenty of family history. This is a great start to a new series by one of my favorite writers, complete with interesting story lines, good characters, international locations, and family. I am interested in what happens in the next book. Source: The author. 5*
