My life was normal before I met him… I was content living my life to the fullest as a single teen.
Sneaking out, partying, boys…it’s all normal for teenagers, right? Except I wasn’t the sneaking out and partying type.
Until I met Kai. After he walked into my life…everything was a thrill. And there was no going back.
The excitement of evading my mom’s rules, drinking, and spending every second hand-in-hand with my new boyfriend until the sunrise has been unlike anything I’ve ever felt before…
Until I’m too sick to stay in class after getting barely any sleep.
Everything is on my nerves—loud noises, the other students, oh, and…the smell of the cafeteria food.
At first, I assume I need more rest. But after my best friend, Paige, convinces me there could be more going on, I realize I have a major problem…
I’m 16 and pregnant.
Forever is the first book in a duet from Mia Skye. There are themes that may be triggering to some readers, such teen pregnancy, alcoholism, and underage sexual acts (as this is a novel that has main characters in high school).
One-Click this novel today to find out how Blakely and Kai’s story evolves!
While this was very over the top high school-ish, I did enjoy going back to a time when I was young and thought I knew everything. Not much in the way of spice, but the story was decent. Will be picking up the next book once it comes out. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first part of a duet. Forever brings that nostalgic 2000 feels. This story follows Blakely and Kai who are still in high school age 16 and 17. During this story we follow Blakely threw some difficult situations where she makes some questionable choices and due to those choices must learn that your actions and choices have consequences you will have to live with. Blakely and Kai are young and in love but must travel on a journey where they must see if teenage love can survive the roller coaster of life. Can’t wait to see the next book and see where these two will end up.
This is my first read by this author and I devoured this book, I was so attached to this story and these charaters I'm sitting on pins and needles awaiting the second instalment of this duet.
3.5 rounded up This was set in the early 2000s and the nostalgia gets me every time. It felt very realistic for that time because I remember several girls getting pregnant in high school. This definitely shows the realities of consequences, along with dealing with other life events.
Book Besties, Forever by Mia Skye has wrecked me in the best way possible! I had the honor of receiving an ARC, which, let me tell you, has left me feeling both blessed and absolutely crushed because now I have to wait for the second book—and I am DEVASTATED. The last 100 pages had my heart racing like I was on a rollercoaster from hell, and those final ten? Gave my eyes a little work out, not gonna lie. The emotional wreckage is real, y’all. Now, let’s talk about the book itself: Blakely’s life is your typical teen dream until she meets Kai. What starts as innocent fun between the two, quickly spirals into something Blakely never anticipated: she’s 16 and pregnant. Forever is a story about choices, consequences, and the unrelenting pull of love, even when the world tells you to slow down. Skye doesn’t pull her punches in this one, tackling heavy themes like teen pregnancy, underage drinking, and navigating the confusing rollercoaster that is young love. The intensity of Blakely and Kai's relationship feels so raw and real that you’re left wanting more (like, right now) Trust me—you won’t be able to put it down, and then you'll be so upsetti-spaghetti that you gotta wait for book two. I'm giving it 4.5 stars from my heart, only because it’s a cliffhanger and I have to wait(I’ll round up to a 5 from my brain though.)
Forever is the first high school romance in this duet where Blakely is a normal high schooler trying to find her way through the world of classes, dating and the social hierarchy during the early 2000s. When she meets Kai, a senior, everything changes. He is the one she wants to be with and comes above all else. The thrill of this new romance and sneaking around is amazing, but when Blakely turns up sick day after day she knows something is up. She’s now sixteen and pregnant and her favorite TV show just became a reality. How will Blakely be able to manage life now with a baby in the way? Will Kai stick around to help or run at the first chance?
I was intrigued by the description of this book and liked the throwback to the early 2000s. I was hoping to connect with this book, but nothing pulled me into the story. While the story seemed well paced and thought out, I couldn’t get into the writing, characters or story at all. Everything seemed a little bit childish to me and I just couldn’t get engrossed in it. I didn’t particularly like either of the characters and wasn’t invested in their lives or story. Maybe the second part of this diet will get better, but this book wasn’t for me.
This book definitely brought that nostalgic y2k feels. Forever is a story about young first love and how they navigate big adult problems at their age.
Two kids who come from unconventional homes and are dealt with an unconventional situation. They bond over their situations but struggle to make better choices in their situation.
This story will leave you frustrated and yelling at these characters like a momma who wants the best for them. Yea, I'm that momma, no gentle parenting here with these two.
*spoiler* stop reading if you don't want to know.
That cliffhanger, why??!! I was left wanting to know and secretly hoping that these kids could get it together so they could raise their baby. Their love was innocent, immature, and not strong enough to navigate the adult issues that they had to handle. I can't wait to see if Kai and Paige get it together for the next book.

The first part of duet, Forever is a nostalgic trip back to when my own daughters were teenagers at school and the daily pressures they faced, fitting in with thier peers and not be seen as different. Blakley and Kai are right at this point, boys, parties, alcohol, sex, all those challenges a teenager face and don't always make the right choices over.
Blakley and Kai learn, the hard way, that actions/choices have consequences that they will have to live with. The journey that Blakley and Kai embark on is emotionally charged, with family, friendships all playing key roles but with un uncertain outcome and questions on if teenage love can survive the rollercoaster they find themselves on. I'm looking forward to the second half of this duet and I'm hoping that has more of Kai's viewpoint in as this I felt was somwhat lacking in the first part.
Forever is about Blakely and Kai, both still in high school at aged 16 and 17. We get to follow Blakely through some difficult times in her adolescence as she makes some questionable choices that mean she has to grow up far sooner than she should have to.
I loved that we get to see the relationship Blakely has with friend Paige, Mum and sister and the ups and downs they go through as a result of Blakely’s choices. As the book is written from Blakely’s point of view we really don’t get to hear Kia’s voice too much throughout.
Mia’s writing sucked me into the past with references to early 2000 language and culture. I really couldn’t put the book down and now i’m on tenterhooks waiting for book 2.
This was one hell of an introduction to Mia Skye’s books and if they’re all as good as this one i will be reading all her books.
I loved this book. All the 2000s nostalgia was so spot on! This was my first Mia Skye book but definitely not my last. This is a coming of age, high school romance, accidental pregnancy book that had me hooked. Blakely and Kai are high school students, that meet her junior year of high school. I love how the author was able to show how first loves make a person feel and not always think properly. This story also shows the struggles of being a single parent. I definitely recommend this book! There is very minimal spice, but it truly is about the story and she focuses more on the highs and lows of first loves. I CANNOT wait for book 2!! This is available now so go pick it up and add to your TBR!
This is the first in a duet, as well as being a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Blakely had a challenging time in her past, resulting in her growing up sooner rather than later. Blakely and Kai are both still in high school when they meet, but their action have consequences. I cannot wait to read the conclusion! This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, making choices, engaging and realistic characters and situations, which leads to a heartfelt addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work recommend.
It was definitely a blast from the past! Blakely and paige are the two main female characters. Both of the girls are 16. Though paige is kinda like the side kick to blakley. Blakely starts sneaking out, drinking, partying, and just doing things that are unsafe all because she met a boy. Kai is 17 living with his 20 year old brother. Kai and blakely hit it off fast. They seem like the typically high school lovers. There are Easter eggs in the book that give away what's going up happen later on.
This is Blakely and Kai’s story and it’s one to add to your TBR list if you haven’t already read it. Their journey is not easy for sure. The choices that Blakely is making are not the best and well she learns that all of our actions have consequences. I am certainly looking forward to see what happens next in the continuing book. I will definitely be waiting for the next one and you should grab it and catch up before the second one.
Blast from the past, in a sense, for me. Mia did such an amazing job with the storyline between B and Kai. so believeable for the time. This book has a lot of moments where you say, "Oh yeah, I did that" or "yeap the good old days"
