Transcendence
When a demonic entity seeking revenge starts tormenting her family, a young woman must rediscover their shared past and embrace her own divine power in order to save not only those she loves, but the creature bent on her destruction.

Alexis is unknowingly hunted by a malevolent entity across every life she has lived, punishment for a forgotten betrayal. When she joins her sister for a friendly gathering that involved a séance, she begins to realize that not everything supernatural can be explained away.

From there, things spiral quickly. As the disturbances grow more intense, Alexis is forced to confront the truth about her past lives and the power she may carry with her. With the help of a psychic and a sharp-tongued old woman, she begins to uncover abilities she never knew she had.
The worlds this book creates are incredibly vivid. Whether in the real world or the realm where Alexis’s soul resides, each setting comes to life in rich, immersive detail. I also loved following the characters and watching them grow and evolve over the course of the story.
If you like demonic entities, mind-bending inner worlds, or emotional depth beneath the horror, you’ll probably love this one.

In Transcendence, Alexis Ferelli is a widower with a normal life. This changes when she receives a dire warning from a mysterious medium. Soon after, Alexis enters a surreal environment with extraordinary people while meditating. However, a dark figure threatens to ruin Alexis’ life, not only in her transcended environment but also her reality.
Katrina Kimball weaves a taut, exciting tale of horror and fantasy together with a finesse most first-time authors can only envy. The plot hurtles along, growing more dire by the chapter. Unlike similar novels, Transcendence doesn’t collapse under its own weight of mysticism. The voice and descriptive passages in this book are superb.
Transcendence was a delight to read. It combines the wonder of a fantasy with the darkness of a horror novel. I look forward to another offering by this author.
