HOUSE OF LIES

5 Houses.
3 Siblings.
1 Pivotal mistake.

In Malan, mages are untouchable, and yet, effectively slaves. Blessed with magical gifts, they are forced to train as the most lethal combatants to serve and protect the Royal Houses. Yet, for other citizens, enlisting in the army is the ultimate goal - the only path out of poverty.

When Mage Fest, the annual holiday that showcases the Mages’ prowess, arrives, the Asherdame family only cares about reuniting after a year apart.

But when Morin Asherdame’s lifelong habit of thieving finally goes wrong, she becomes a target in the most awaited Mage Fest game. One where fifty trained mages hunt and kill five chosen criminals.

Trying to help, Virginia Asherdame, sworn soldier for the Prince of House Corynth, brands herself a traitor.

Caught in the crossfires of both his sister’s actions, Sam Asherdame and his parents pay the price.

As Morin is thrown in with the mages, Virginia taken by cryptic assassins, and Sam on the run from monarchs, the Asherdame family will be further than ever before. Each encountering friends and foes alike, doomed romances, and long hidden lies that expose their ‘flourishing’ society.

But can they survive to see each other again?

Such a great read! I loved how the story switched between the siblings—it kept things really interesting and kept me hooked. The plot itself was super engaging too. Definitely recommend!
