Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance
A Wyoming Family Holiday is the fifth title in the Back to Adelaide Creek series, this time bringing us an emotional romance featuring Bethany, a single mom and the person responsible for the revitalization of the town’s rehab and care facility, where Sloan’s father now resides after a stroke. Bethany was Sloan’s high school crush, and it seems those feelings have not lessened over time, but now, as adults, he’s determined to do anything he can to rekindle those feelings and, perhaps, help fund the repairs to the care center… anonymously, of course. Hmm. Talk about a good deed backfiring!
I enjoyed watching Bethany and Sloan slowly lower their walls to allow someone special into their lives. Sloan’s dad is one stubborn, “hoot” as my grandmother would say, and I adored him. Bethany’s daughter, Heidi, steals every scene she’s in. This group of people is about to become family, in the best meaning of the word, because family, whether natural or found, can make life better for everyone… especially around the holidays.
If you enjoy a sweet, holiday romance with believable characters, returning to a small town alive with unique characters, and a couple who truly do belong together, then A Wyoming Family Holiday by Virginia McCullough is a perfect Christmas gift to give to yourself.

Can saving a town landmark…
Restore her faith in love?

Sloan Lancaster and father Lucas .
Bethany and daughter Heidi Hoover.
My favorite quote is
“Hey, don’t argue with me,” she said, smiling broadly as she led him along the corridor. “Of course, I’m going to take you to Lucas. I promise you’ll get the grand tour of Winding Creek later. For now, you can catch up with your dad. I’ll be here if you have questions.”
I recommend this book.

Bethany runs a rehab center that's a bit Rundown but is doing her best to help restore to a point where people can be proud of that is a slow-moving process. Sloan Lancaster is an attorney that is around to check on his father's care and debating whether or not to stay home with his dad to make sure he gets the help that he needs. But it seems that his father isn't the only thing to stick around when he sets his sight on Bethany.
This was a slow paced holiday read it had the very small town feel to it. I enjoyed getting to know the two characters and seeing that slow romance happen. I loved that Bethany was such a hard worker and she was doing everything she can to help restore that building so that it doesn't be taken away for something else she could see the possibilities in the place she just needed the funds. Then there's Sloan has a decent amount of money and willing to donate and help out where he can anonymously but it was nice watching him follow along as they see how things are run. Overall this was a pretty good holiday book perfect to read during this time I really enjoyed it.

Another in the Back to Adelaide Creek series, in which lawyer Sloan Lancaster comes home to Adelaide Creek to help take care of his father after the older man suffered a stroke and is now recuping at the Winding Creek Rehab and Care Center. The manager of the care center is Bethany, a girl Sloan had a crush on in high school.
Even though she's also caring for a rambunctious 3-year-old, Bethany wants to bring the Care Center back to its previous glory, but she needs money not only for a new roof, but also to convert some of the rooms into in-house studio apartments. Sloan has the bucks and becomes an anonymous donor, but when he fails to come clean with Bethany about his contribution to the cause, she jumps to conclusions that mean the end of their slowly blossoming relationship.
What is Sloan going to do? What also will Bethany do now that she's ready for love again?

Overall the story was cute. However, it started out with too many moving parts and characters at the beginning to really connect with it and get to know the story well. Sloan & Bethanys story was sweet but it took too long to get to the true plot of the story.

This is a tender, small-town holiday romance that beautifully blends second chances, forgiveness, and community spirit. Returning to Adelaide Creek to care for his recovering father, lawyer Sloan Lancaster doesn’t expect to reconnect with Bethany, his former high school crush and now the capable manager of the Winding Creek Rehab and Care Center.
Bethany is juggling the demands of single motherhood and her dream of restoring the care center to its former warmth and vitality. When Sloan quietly donates money to help fund the renovations, his secret generosity backfires, threatening their growing connection. What follows is a heartfelt journey of truth, trust, and rediscovering what really matters.
McCullough excels at capturing the nuances of small-town life—where compassion, gossip, and holiday magic intertwine. Both Sloan and Bethany are mature, relatable characters navigating love after loss and disappointment. With themes of healing, gratitude, and the courage to open one’s heart again, A Wyoming Family Holiday is a warm, uplifting story perfect for readers who believe in second chances and Christmas miracles.
