Virgil Jones, lead detective with the state’s Major Crimes Unit, has learned plenty of lessons over the course of his career...most of them the hard way. But the one he's about to learn this time is something his father, Mason, has been trying to teach him for years. The lesson? Everything is connected.
Now, done with work for the week and ready to call it a day, Virgil leaves the MCU facility to visit a friend and fellow detective in the hospital. And what begins as a chance encounter with a cold-hearted killer will have the entire Major Crimes Unit--and their collective families--fighting for their lives, because wrath doesn't care who it touches...only that it does.
State of Wrath is the exceptional 23rd novel in the ongoing Virgil Jones Mystery Thriller series...one that continues to leave millions of readers on the edge of their seats and begging for more. If you like unputdownable crime fiction with action, adventure, rebellion, thrills, chills, laugh-out-loud humor, and characters you'll want to stand and cheer for, your search ends here, because the Virgil Jones Mystery Thriller series is original crime fiction at its finest.
This was another fantastic addition to this awesome series. Things start out very intense, then the team is rushing to figure out what's going on, as well as why everything happened. It's another complex case that brings up more of the past than anyone is comfortable with, but it takes quite a bit for everyone to make the connections. The most horrific tragedy is when they loose one of their own. (Which is VERY mean Mr. Scott!!) It's certainly not a story or series to be missed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Virgil Jones and the MCU team are at it again. Or, more accurately, someone is “at them.” Someone is after them and the team has only hours to determine who and why.
It’s not often that I buy into the “unputdownable” trope in terms of book reviews, but “State of Wrath” was so action packed that it was, indeed, difficult to put down. I was back to it at first chance.
I love Thomas Scott’s Virgil Jones series. I love the development of characters, the addition of new characters to the on-going cast, and how they all become part of the ever-growing Jones-Smalls family.
Never a dull moment with Virgil and his gang. Such a good story. Well developed characters that the reader cannot help but enjoy. You laugh a little then cry a little. One of my favorite series. Anticipating the next book in the series.
These books just keep getting better and better. I think this was the best one yet. Virgil sure has a hot mess to clean up and find a new place for the gang. This series should be a TV series. I highly recommend all Thomas Scott’s books.
Love this book.and how it cleared up so many loose ends from previous books. The only thing that is bad is waiting for the next book in the series to be released. Wish it could be speed up.
Great plot the characters were the best. I loved all the twists and turns. I’m so sorry about our friend. You get used to certain people and how they contribute to the story. Now I have to wait for 24
Love this whole series! Always sad to lose a member of the MCU family. I feel like I know all the characters now from books 1 thru 23 like they are part of my family! Hope you write many more Virgil Jones novels and keep me thoroughly entertained!
