Duke is a Golden Retriever looking for a family to call his own. All of his dog friends find their forever home but he is still without one although he is happy for them. Jay is in search of a new puppy pal for the farm. Duke sees Jay and immediately knows that is his future owner. Duke runs to him and they have a moment, then Jay takes Duke to his new home. Duke begins to learn what needs to be done on the farm and loves playing around. Does Duke make any mistakes on the farm? Read to find out. In the end, Jay and Duke are best friends and partners for life.
In the classroom, this book is good for students who enjoy animal stories or good illustrations in books. The author is good at using simple sentences that would be easy for students to follow and develop better reading skills.
