This was a good non-fiction. It was aimed for girls ages 9-12, but I can’t say I say give this book to girls I know in that age range. But I can see Public School girls that age reading this book. It was personally very simple to me but I did enjoy it. I have to give the author a round of applause, though, for quoting Katie Davis and Kylie Biscutti. :)

About the Author:
Jackie Kendall is President of Power to Grow Ministries. She is a National conference speaker and the best-selling author of Lady in Waiting, The Mentoring Mom, A Man Worth Waiting For, Free to Love: The Liberating Power of Forgiveness, and Lady in Waiting for Little Girls. She has been married 37 years to Ken and they have two grown children, Ben and Jessi, a son-in-law Drew, and their first grandchild—Emma Grace.
My Review:
Staying pure until your wedding day, is the absolutely best gift that you can give to your husband. Many teenaged children feel a stigma attached to themselves when others see them as a virgin or know that they are. You are actually looked down upon because you aren't doing what others around you are doing.Therein lies a beauty in waiting for the one God has predestined for you. I know my daughter believes he is missing in action. She has to be reminded, that in God's perfect time, the "one" will be revealed.
Waiting for Your Prince, encourages you to keep trusting God and keep his commandants while in wait for the "one" who is to fulfill your destiny. My favorite encouraging word from the book is when the author encourages our girls to not settle for a Bozo, but to wait for a Boaz. Love it! The author explains to young girls through different scripture references the connections between a young lady saying yes to God and no to premarital sex. Remaining pure is God's ultimate design, and it is a treasured gift that should remain so. I applaud the author for addressing this topic, our world is in desperate need of this message.

This is a fabulous book, specifically for the young lady. Although reading this as a young adult, there were many things that I could take home and apply myself. Jackie Kendall is known for her other books including "Lady in Waiting". This book is similar to "Lady in Waiting" for the topics that are covered, but are well geared for girls around 3rd through 5th grade.
A lot of books about preparing for your future spouse focus mainly on the relationship aspect. What is refreshing about this book is that it focuses on you becoming the person that God intended you to be: A Young Lady of Total Surrender, Diligence, Faith, Virtue, Devotion, Purity, Security, Contentment, Conviction, and Patience. Jackie Kendall has an amazing way of gearing the different topics in a way that is easy for young girls to understand, yet deep enough to challenge them to become young ladies that God has created them to be.
I would recommend this book for any and all young girls to help grow into young ladies that are worth waiting for. I would also recommend it to any girls' small group leaders and mentors.

Young girls are being bombarded on all sides with messages about their outward beauty, self-worth, and about marriage and love. The author has taken Biblical stories and turned them into messages for the heart for young girls on the cusp of being a teenager. Each chapter focuses on different aspects that girls can take to heart that will help them while they are waiting on their prince to arrive. These lessons are intended to get them ready for their heavenly Prince as well. The author uses scripture liberally and ends each chapter with questions for further reflection and study. The book would work well for an individual or small group of girls studying together.
I was very impressed with the large amount of scripture and thought that the author put into the book. The stories and thoughts were interesting and on level with a pre-teen girl. The concepts were not difficult to understand, but provided some food for thought or for further reflection. I also liked the questions at the end of each chapter. I will definitely be keeping this book for my daughter to read and would recommend it to anyone with a young daughter getting ready to hit her pre-teen years.

Waiting for your Prince by Jackie Kendall
Absolutely wonderful! As I read through this book for young ladies, I was reminded of the Grace Livingston Hill books I read as a teenager. I wanted the kind of husband Hill described. Those books helped define what I looked for and found in a husband. This book gives guidance to young girls to be women of integrity and continue to grow spiritually.
Kendall touches on subjects young ladies think about and don’t know who to ask to get satisfactory answers. Why not offer this book to your daughter, niece, or a young lady in the church. It should be in every young lady’s library to refer to as she matures. Read diligently, she would glean godly wisdom on subjects from how to respond to those who do mean things to how to make wise decisions and life choices. Using the biblical Book of Ruth, Kendall explains (on a level of pre-teen girls and older) why a girl can keep herself pure and reasons for doing so.
With the insightful questions at the end of each chapter, the reader could use this book as a weekly devotional or group study.
A beautiful encouragement for young ladies to be all they can be in the Lord and to wait patiently for what God has for them-including their future mate.

"Waiting For Your Prince: A Message for the Young Lady in Waiting," written by Jackie Kendall is an easy to read book with a beautiful message! This book clearly tells girls that they are worthwhile! They are beautiful! They have value! They are created in God's image. While these are not messages our society gives to young women today, these are truths straight from God's word!
Every life has value and Kendall reinforces this with scripture, personal stories and lots of encouragement. She teaches how important it is to forgive the bully, to have an attitude of gratefulness, to make wise choices, to be content, to be pure, and to pray.
"Waiting For Your Prince" is a well written book for young teen girls, perhaps junior high age. The book of Ruth is referenced many times, as Ruth is a wonderful example of love and faithfulness. At the end of each chapter there are questions that the reader is encouraged to answer, either in writing, or to discuss with friends or family. I received this book from "The Book Club Network" in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a message for the tween or teen! Jackie Kendall in Waiting for Your Prince shares Biblical principles to the young girl waiting to be swept off her feet by Prince Charming. Using the story of Ruth and referencing the Proverbs 31 woman, Kendall shows the reader how to prepare herself to attract a Boaz and not be taken in by the Bozos in life. From total surrender of one's life to God to recognizing security and self-confidence are found in what God says, from purity to patience, and diligence to devotion, readers are given a number of topics to help recognize the value of becoming the woman God desires us to be. A valuable book to share with the gals, whether they are your children or your grandchildren, neighbor gals or friends. Moms and grandmoms can benefit too in knowing what to encourage their daughters focus on and knowing how to pray for them.

What a charming book for young ladies! I highly recommend this book for tweens and young teens!
As the back says, “Become the young woman you were made to be while you wait for God’s best.” Each chapter delves into a different aspect of a young lady’s life – Becoming a young lady of diligence, faith, virtue, devotion, purity and so on. In the chapters the author gives stories of young ladies displaying these virtues as well as Biblical stories. And this book isn’t just a book to help girls understand purity, it also talks about insecurities and mean girls and other things girls deal with. Each chapter ends with discussion questions.
I wish I had had this book when my girls were younger. Moms and grandmoms, read this book to your daughters or the girls in your lives and talk about their living “like the priceless treasure God created” them to be. I received this book from bookfun.org in return for my honest opinion.

My daughter and I read Waiting for Your Prince by Jackie Kendall. We felt the book encourages girls to deepen their relationship with God and say "yes" to Him, to wait for God's best and not fall for jerks, and encourages girls to save themselves for their future husbands.
Jackie Kendall uses the biblical Ruth as a role model for girls to learn from and gives them a picture of what a Proverbs 31 woman is like. She is passionate about what she writes, she shares life examples, and her writing is warm and friendly.
This book is very engaging and draws you in. The author makes excellent points and she has a helpful discussion guide for the reader and her parents at the end of each chapter.
My daughter loved this book, and it encouraged us to have some great discussions.
We highly recommend the book!

Waiting for your Prince by Jackie Kendall is a must read for every young lady in waiting. Taking examples from the story of Ruth and from her own life, Jackie Kendall encourages girls to wait for God’s best by spending their time growing closer to Christ rather than simply hunting for a man. In an easy and fun to read way, this book shows girls, based off the example of Ruth, how to become young women of purity, contentment, patience, and so on in order that they may become girls after God’s own heart and attract their Boaz rather than bozos. This book encouraged me and helped me see romance in a biblical perspective- not the media’s, for once- and I strongly recommend everyone to read this book; seriously, I can’t say this enough. I received this book from The Book Club Network, Inc. and the opinions stated are my own.

I just finished reading Waiting for Your Prince by Jackie Kendall. This book is wonderful. I’m a huge fan of Jackie Kendall and she does it again - this time bringing encouragement to my daughter and her age group. She reinforces the character traits and Biblical truths that I pray my daughter will claim as her own instead of listening to and embracing the world’s perspective of marriage and family.
I think the book is easy to read, easy to understand and written in a way to keep the girls’ attention. I would recommend this book to many mothers, grandmothers, mentors, teachers, etc. who want to help instill godly values in the lives of the youth today.

I would have to say, even though this was toward girls a bit younger than 18 years old, I believe it to be very helpful in my walk with Christ. :) And it helped me to simply understand what qualities are needed to grow as the woman of God called us to be!! And it really helped when she showed the difference between a Bozo and a Boaz!! Very helpful!! I also liked that she mentioned what we should do about our feelings, to when we have a bit of a crush on a guy. That we pray for them and give our feelings to God. I am very thankful to know all that she has mentioned in the book. I highly recommend this book!! I pray this book blesses anyone who reads it as much as it blessed me.♥
