Beauty wants a different life than her tiny village offers. She agrees to take her father's place as servant for the Beast and is delighted with her new future. But the Beast is far different than she imagined.

Cheryl Corbin writes fantasy and science fiction adventures. She lives in Iowa and works with her writing partner, Yuki, a Bichon Frise, though Yuki usually spends more time sleeping than contributing to the story in progress.

The three retellings in this mini-anthology are rather weird, but the creative sort of weird. I loved the Sleeping Beauty retelling best, which is the better written and developed story; I thought the Rapunzel retelling was fine, somewhat darkly humorous but not much to my liking; and the Beauty & Beast retelling was my least favourite, mostly because of the shape-shifter narrative mixed with the Disney plotline.
