Lela May Wight grew up with seven brothers and sisters. Yes, it was noisy, and she often found escape in romance books. She now hopes she can offer readers the same escapism when the world is a little too loud.

WOW another spectacular, passionate, deep, moving and emotional story from MS Wight, two people scarred from their pasts but two very different people from different worlds will unite but will it create love or will it break one of them more?

Aurora Arundel is an heiress who is alone after losing her parents and her brother but she wants more she feels so much guilt over her brother’s death and now she thinks that she can help in a small way and attends a mystic masquerade art auction it is time she broke the rules that she lived all her life under her parents rule, but this night will change her world in so many ways, when she meets a man in the garden the recluse artist Sebastian Shard and together they become one but only for a short time.

Six months later Sebastian is in his castle in the Scottish Highlands but his hands are not working for him everything has changed since that night in the garden and then he sees a clip from a newspaper and there she is, pregnant is that his baby?

He must have her and the baby he must protect them and keep them safe and soon Aurora finds herself in a castle but she wants more than Sebastian can give but she is determined to break his walls down, together they heat the bed and the room but can she get him to open up and find the love and happiness they deserve?

Yep I loved this one from start to finish, a fabulous read, I loved MS Wight’s stories her deep take on people and their feelings, they pull me in and leave me sighing at the end. I do highly recommend this one.

My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.

Thank you to Harlequin Audio for the ALC.

Was this great writing? Debatable. Were the characters interesting and engaging? Debatable. Was this story akin to contemporary fantasy? Absolutely. Was the plot a one way ticket to Bonkersville (population me)? Oh yes. Did I have a fun time listening? I think did?

Kidnapped for Her Secret is an accidental pregnancy romance featuring two billionaire virgins. But that's just a surface level start! The male main character, Sebastian Shard, is a formerly homeless man turned mysterious and reclusive billionaire artist. He is the embodiment of darkness! He is all that lurks in the shadows! He knows nothing of love! In short, he's Batman. The female main character, Aurora Arundel, is an heiress haunted by the loss of her older brother. She is the white saviour philanthropist with a sad past and a heart of gold. She is all things good and light! She is dainty and delicate! She must be protected from all the dark in this world! I grow weary of female main characters described in this narrow, one dimensional illustration of femininity. Indeed, the main issue I had with the relationship dynamic in this book was that the FMC bends over backwards in her commitment to this unreachable man-who refuses to change for anyone. Growth is for losers!

I was not a fan of the beneficent, ethical billionaire aspect here. The riches terrorize these people! They don't want it! They are better than the rest of the billionaire class because they are innately good (Aurora) / bad (Sebastian).

I am in what seems like the small, niche minority who genuinely likes the accidental pregnancy trope. I enjoy how the plot can unfold when two characters come together for a night of passion and must then address the baby in the womb. Will there be consideration of abortion? How was birth control addressed prior to the tryst? In this case, it's a very light touch. Ignoring the first and only minutely touching on the latter.

Kitty Kelly did a good job with the narration. She really made Sebastian sound like Batman. It was very fitting.

Two people, Aurora and Sebastian, who lost their siblings, meet at a masquerade ball to raise money for the homeless. Both are still mourning and need to forget just for a little while. They both agree to a one time fling. They go their separate ways. When Sebastian sees a picture of Aurora six months later, he notices that she’s pregnant. Is it his? He will do everything to protect her and the baby from the cruel world. He feels she’s naive and innocent in a lot of ways. She agrees and is hoping to make a loving family for their child, since she, her brother and Sebastian never had loving parents. Can a wealthy, beautiful, smart woman change a cold hearted, recluse billionaire artist’s mind? Will she break open and crack his ice cold heart? Both are sad, not trusting of people , mourning, and afraid of love. Can they both forgive themselves? Can they let the past go? Can they make a home with loving parents for their child? These two are wonderful characters. They need to find forgiveness and live for their siblings and help others too, and let their siblings death not be in vain. I was rooting for these two. I didn’t want to put the book down. Lela May Wright is a awesome author. Her books are worth reading. You won’t regret it. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily.

What if a modern-day Viking hero appeared in front of you? Would you willingly go with them? Who could resist the castle of a billionaire artist?

Aurora Arundel, a heiress who wants to make amends for her past negligence, bids for a painting by a reclusive artist whose gaze makes you feel seen. That's how Sebastian makes Aurora feel every time he looks at her. When I mentioned Vikings, Sebastian certainly looks the part with his long-shoulder length hair, turquoise eyes, and broad shoulders,  though he is certainly reclusive living in a castle that I dream of living in.

The opening scene swept me into the dramatic setting and the emotional depth of the past between Aurora and Sebastian. Her parents' restraint makes her brave, brave enough to ask Sebastian to kiss her. Sebastian has never wanted anything as much as Aurora, and their one heated night has a consequence.

I have always loved Lela's books, particularly when she features the heroines with flowers. I found it so endearing when the dandelion fluff flew up around Aurora, mesmerizing Sebastian. Oh my, please, be still mu heart!

In the midst of my studies, I really can't thank Lela enough for sending me this ARC and transporting me into another world before I face reality again. It is a wonderful novel, so beautifully and dramatically written.

4 1/2 STARS!

I loved every minute of the mystery and passion that Lela May Wight delivers on! A mystery guest at a masquerade ball is the set up for two unlikely souls connecting in a segway into more than they ever bargained for. The characters each have strong back stories that bring the reader into the heart of why each has been alone in life and looking for even a miniscule connection on the night they meet. While there are holes in the past that could have been delved into slightly more to paint a more complete picture, I found myself enjoying them wholeheartedly and cheering behind the scenes for them to realize just what they were on the cusp on lucking into with their relationship. Aurora and Sebastian were a pleasure to get to know and to journey into the highlight of their lives with. Highly enjoyed!

I enjoyed this emotional romance between two billionaires whose lives are emotionally bereft after familial tragedies. Their first encounter is compelling and poignantly passionate. It ends abruptly, and you wonder if these two will find their way back to each other. An unexpected pregnancy assures this. What follows illustrates the spectrum of human emotions, ranging from dark to light, which lends this contemporary romance a unique, almost fairytale quality. I invested in the characters and believed in the emotion.
I received a copy of this book from the author.

Aurora and Sebastian meet at a charity Galla. They fall into some spicy times. Seven months later Sebastian comes across a very pregnant Aurora. He decides the only way to keep them safe is to have her come with him to him mansion. I saw the third act breakup was coming from a mile away. The characters were well-written, the plot was well-paced, but I found myself wanting more from the chemistry. This wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t my favorite either. Thank you Harlequin and NetGalley for an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Hear me out. Close your eyes...don't read the cover, don't look at the cover.

Okay, now.... it is a pretty good book, actually. I enjoyed the characters and backstories (heavy on the MMC backstory and shorted a little bit on the FMC IMO). I wished it were a bit longer to really bond our characters together and perhaps had some more robust supporting characters. It was very one-dimensional which kind of worked since she was technically "kidnapped" but it would be have been nice to have some more building of our setting/characters/life.

I fear that if the author doesn't change the cover art this will be a flop because it is such an ick and that stinks because the book itself was NOT an ick!
