The American economy is in good profits are soaring, employment is expanding, and technological advances abound. Yet inequality between genders and races still exists. In this book, Leslie McCall sifts through the complexities surrounding wage differences and economic restructuring to provide an important new understanding of the differences gender, race and class make in equality. McCall's vision of inequality will offer a new way to approach and address the complexities of inequality.
This book blew my mind. Main point: different cities have different economies with different "configurations of inequality." In each configuration, different categories of people are related by varying levels of inequality. For example, in some economies, when gender inequality is reduced then racial inequality grows, etc. Policy relevant. Loved it.
