How to set up and start with confidence. How to control the flow and get your characters into the flow of the game. How to handle the rules and the exceptions. How to make a DM screen and what to put on both sides of it. How to handle a one shot and all it's variations. This book is full of good information but it's still short enough to read in one sitting. I liked it.
Just what you'll need as a beginning Dungeon Master!
I believe that this work does exactly what it sets out to do- get you the knowledge you'll need as a beginning Dungeon Master. Personally, I might have said some of the things a bit differently given my preferences as a DM, but for a beginner it won't steer you wrong.
Well written and interesting guide to becoming a dungeon-master. Detailed but not excessively so. The best tidbit in the book, one which a lot of DMs forget, is this: make sure the game is about the participants, and not about you
