Aimed at the casual acquaintance of Chicago, this book is the first in a new city-specific series from the publishers behind the My Cool series (My Cool Caravan, My Cool Shed), using the same blend of high-end photography coupled with stylish design. Written by a Chicago guide, it features a diverse range of locations from visitor hotspots and street art to some favorite local destinations. Featured locations include Cloud Gate, Aragon Ballroom, Second City, Poetry Foundation, Hot Doug's, Music Box Theatre, Pilsen murals, 57th Street Bookstore, DuSable Museum of African American History, The Original Rainbow Cone, Signature Room at the 95th, and many more.
My wife and daughter and I spent 4 days in Chicago. This book served as a helpful guide for things to do and see during our brief stay. Having gone to high school (Naperville) and college (U Of I) in the State it was somewhat of a Homecoming. I am pleased to have this book on our coffee table for both reference and memories.
Interesting overview of a really cool city. The parts of the city the book covered were well done. Unfortunately I think there are some other great areas of the city that are not covered.
