Rate this book
When you know secrets that can destroy an empire, hiding is no longer an option.

Maura Coutts, the daughter of a dangerous religious Prophet, knows the only way to stay alive is to hide. Settled in a safe community in the middle of a post-apocalyptic world, Maura’s worst nightmare is realized when her community members begin to go missing. And when one returns on the brink of death, she learns that her father will stop at nothing to find out where she is.

Using her insider information, Maura attempts to help rescue the missing people. But when the search parties run into danger at every turn, she realizes her small community can’t compete with the Prophet’s bloodthirsty troops. Maura must face an unthinkable stay where she is and put her community at risk, or run straight into the deadly traps her father’s men have set for her.

What an absolute RIDE!
I have been eagerly reading every book in this series as they come out and never feel like I've got enough. There is so much this author fits into each of these books and they always have my stomach in knots and me turning the pages as fast as I can.
Caitlin's writing is electric and completely transports you into the story, the characters are so finely woven they truly feel like real people.
I really can never get enough of this story and wish it could just go on forever!
I am constantly so concerned for our characters, once you think they maybe will be safe for a little while, NOPE, they're always on to the next wild adventure. You certainly can't ever get comfortable while reading this series. I literally hang on every word and could NOT believe what ended up happening in this one.
I absolutely loved the added POV of Maura's sister and felt it gave us a little extra something, upping the stakes. I also instantly connected with her and really like her and her story.
As usual, my jaw dropped when I read the last few chapters and I will be hanging off the edge of the cliff I am always left on just begging for the next book!
Thank you so much Caitlin Mazur, I am truly honored to have received and arc and these opinions are my own.

A found family of misfits who so badly deserve the unlikely love and support that they have found in each other

Again, unable to stop reading even when it was too late to keep going. The characters make you want to keep up with what each are feeling/thinking. The layout is wonderful as you know each chapter who you are following. This makes you feel you are there, in the trenches, basements and abandoned houses. Now to wait for the next!!!

Another compelling story in the series!

Caitlin Mazur has done it again with a riveting story questioning absolute authority, especially authority claiming to align 100% with God. As a Christian myself, I really appreciated how Mazur has threaded the needle of holding to a biblical faith while also questioning those who would use any means to not only gain power by hold onto power.
Set in the post-post apocalypse in a cult reminiscent of some of the most renowned of our day, Maura Coutts was taught to obey The Prophet first, and her husband second. God was a distant and questionable third and He didn’t speak to women, let alone “disobedient” girls. But when she is washed outside the commune in a fast creek and discovers the outside world is nothing like The Prophet, her father, says, Maura’s beliefs start unraveling.
In this book we finally see Maura coming into her own confidence, embracing the good things about her Christian faith, while rejecting the lies from her upbringing. I enjoyed watching her realize she could want things which didn’t align with her cultish father’s demands. And I loved seeing her craft a plan to take not only her own life back, but to free others from the same bondage she’d accidentally escaped.
The series is best read in order, so start at book 1, and I’m anxiously awaiting the concluding book 4!

Just finished this third book in the Forgive Me Father series, and now I’m ready for book four! But it’s not out yet…booo.

Forgive Our Survival continues Maura’s story as she works to take down the crazy religious cult leader who is her father. Filled with action, suspense, and love, this series is such a good read. The dystopian world Mazur has built is enough to drive you insane.

If you love a well written dystopian story that is full of tension and will make you gnash your teeth in frustration and cheer for the underdogs, this is the series for you. Now I’ll impatiently wait for book four.
